I understand he has a special skill set, and fits our need at the 2 guard, but why is everyone so big on him? He hasn't faced any significant competition while playing for Rice.

Points scored isnt the biggest parameter of what a guy can do-- you have to take everything into account size speed skills charachter competion level etc..

That being said Im pretty sure he lead the NBA pre-draft camp in scoring last year and he has put up

28 points 5 rebounds against final 16 team Oregon
44 and 12 against final 16 team Vanderbilt
15 and 10 against final 16 team Memphis
So that is an average of 27.5 points and 9 rebounds against 1/4 of the teams left of the 64.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Almond is the real deal.

Briggs help me out man, I'm worried he's going to be LONG gone by the time we pick with the Bulls pick, I'm worried he's a lotto pick and every GM in the league with a open 2guard spot (like us) is salivating at the chance to draft him. Set my mind at ease and tell me it's not true.

No chance. When he gets to individual workouts and starts draining 37 out of 40 3s--it's all done. 12-18

You didn't do a very good job at setting my mind at ease Briggs

I guess I'm hoping for a Thaddeus Young if Almond is gone.

Yeah I agree with Briggs, King. I think Brewer is no lower than Top12.
