Pop, Larry, Pat riley, Phil jackson, Rudy tom..obviously you know what these guy's have in common..the last 16 championships if not more. Out of a pool of maybe 55 coaches in the same time span, None of these new guys have a clue as to what it takes..Larry brown for whatever reason would have had this team in the same place as IT, giving a 2nd chance..

Not killing IT because he has done a decent job, but coaching a team to a championship, or getting a team to focus evry single minute of the season and PO...not everbody has it.

Why do you think that? Nobody wanted to play for him.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

these situations are not always black and white. Players, coaches, GM's, owners ALL have to be in line with one another for there to be a smoothly run organization and to (potentially) maximize potential of a team.

They weren't winning and was yet to buy in to his system, but hey... all good things usually don't start out good.

A franhise thats run smoothly from top to bottom, thats a rarity. Which justifies, why there's only been 5 coaches to pop bubbly at the end of the season in the last umpteen years. There's also a shortage of great pgs in this league, which also attributes to the lack of championship teams in this league.

By the end of the season, this team hated Larry and Larry hated management and his players. There was no way it was going to work. You saw how much of a rough start the team had. With Larry at the helm, this team would have packed it in at the beginning of the year.

Martin I completely agree with this sentiment. Last year Dolan and Isiah were on one page. Than part of the team was another team while another part was on a completely different page. Finally Brown was on his own page.

If Larry was still here:

The Knicks would still be mailing it in
Dolan would be drinking again
Marbs would be suspended for a choking incident.
Membership on UK would be halved by the amount of suicides and unfortunate in game deaths caused by hideous play.

Like him or hate him, Respect him or spit on him, Larry's time here was done.

Larry just didn't fit in here. the players didn't like him, he didn't like the players, management didn't like him, he didn't like management, I feel like I"m beating a dead horse here by saying this but everybody was responsible for something in last year's debacle, from ownership down to the rooks. that's not to say LB is a bad coach. in my mind he's a superior coach to Isiah in terms of basketball know-how, which gives you a deep edge going into the playoffs. but as we saw last year, it takes more than BBall IQ some times, especially when it comes to young players. in fact that was LB's problem. he has no idea how to take raw talent and help it grow into its fullest potential. you give him a squad of veterans like he had in Detroit and look what happens; they were basically a bunch of nobodies, but they were all vets (except for Tayshaun Prince) and responded well to Brown's style of coaching. but he failed with our young ones, and Isiah's 'pat you on the back' style has worked out better with our players.
^precocious neophyte.

It was a horrible mix that needed to be seperated. Marbs was never going to play for him, and neither were the rest of the crew. LB was never going to coach the majority of them either. It didn't work. So we moved on. Doesn't mean we didn't bomb on another hiring/signing because we did. Time to move on.

There are plenty of quotes by Don Chaney that you could use.
