Frye was saying yestersday that he works out with Jeffries and that has helped his game and confidence. Now according to Frye Jeffries is really working hard. Do you think Jeffries can get better and do you want him to remain on the team?

if he can develop a consistent jumper-- whether it be mid-range or from 3-- he can stay out on the floor longer and will no longer be an offensive liability. he also needs to work on finishing around the rim stronger and not just rushing up those quick shots and pray for a foul.

on the other hand, if Balkman and Lee can improve their defense, and develop a jumpshot (which Lee is on the brink of doing and Balk has shown he can do), well... Jeffries kind of loses out, since Balk and Lee are more athletic and therefore have POTENTIAL to defend a wider range of positions. but I guess we'll see
^precocious neophyte.

No matter how much he develops I feel he's already an asset. Jared's length and defensive agility for a guy his size is much needed. He's not a stopper, but he's a good defender in a team concept. So when we have him out there with other defensive players like Balkman, his value is enhanced. In fact that's how I view Frye too. Overall I really like what we have in our C and F spots. We just need to add another good 2 way SF to the group.

If you notice Jared's form on his shots has looked a bit better as he's gone along in the season. If he keeps working on it, he might just get to a decent %. When he started the year his whole shot was AWFUL. Now even tho he still isn' hitting at a good %, his form looks much smoother and on target. So hopefully he'll really get in the gym this summer and work on his offensive game.

I dont want anyone on my team who is shooting 39% from the charity strip. There is no reason anyone should be shooting less then 70/75% from the line unless your shaq or wilt, who dominate so bad, that flaw was almost necasary to a certain extent.

Jeff is a solid defender, but what good is it when you can't finish on the other end...People are quick to kill a player who cant defend, but are ok with guys who can't score..it makes no sense.

Defense wins championships, but the object of the game is to see who can score the most in 48 minutes/

I really think Jared Jeffries may advance to one day being an NBDL quality player. I know it's a stretch, but I have faith in him.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

All we need jared to be is what we brougt him here for. Just do his job, which is grab rebounds, get garbage points, do the intangibles, and defend. If he does that, then he will be worth his price. Each game that passes, he seems to be looking better and better. I chalk that up to experience, veteran players know whats at stake and they tend to elevate their game to match the situation. I think Jeffries will be a fine addition to this knick team. It does not hurt to have Balkm waiting in the wings. If we can make this work and keep everyone, we would have a really strong bench, which is a great asset in todays league.

What Jared gives us is a bigger defender who can make things tougher on guys that we usually haven't been able to defend. He and Balkman will form the crux of our D against those tough covers. I think his value in that regard can tend to be overlooked. We need more defenders, not scorers. He's been much more solid lately. Yes he has a weak offensive game, but he may yet improve that just enough to make it all worthwhile. Right now I'll take what he gives us.

Just looking at our Centers and Forwards I really Like what we have, including Jared who makes us deeper and more flexible. Curry, Frye, Lee, Jared and Balkman. That's a nice tight group with LOADS of talent and potential to improve.

Jared is not supposed to be dominating anything. He's paid to blend in and be efficient all around.

He's not a certified retard anymore. He's more borderline retarded now than anything.

The problem is, there's no place for him on this roster when everyone or even almost everyone is healthy.

Isiah said yesterday in the post game that everytime they play balkman 30 plus minutes he ends up with a double double.

Are we missing something? David lee and balkman would totally piss off the opposing teams. Starting the will and grace boys just pisses us off.

The main problem with Jeffries at this point is that he takes minutes away from Balkman, who clearly should be playing major minutes every night.

ROFL. That's exactly how I feel about Eddy on defense and when he's doubled on offense.

he's a career 6 & 5 player after 5 years in the NBA & has never showed much improvement at all from year to year... he's not going to get any better than he is now guys.

btw, check out what some WAS fans had to say about him when he was a member of their team:

That's a major insult to NBDL defenders!!! The only thing Ey Curry ever successfully defended was his record in the pie eating contest.

Nothing wrong with Jeffries if we build a team that uses him properly instead of having a team that needs him to hit jumpers from the 3 spot.
I just hope that people will like me
