Would you still Trade Kurt for Q

This seemed to be Isiahs best move to date before Q started to break down (although the Curry trade is up there baring the knicks play good ball to end the season. However with Lee injured its going to be tough to make the playoffs, but if Frye steps up it could be a good thing.) Obviosly it was a tremendous risk considering Richardson is still owed 24 million for the next three years and his back wasn't insured for a reason. I don't think its wrong to think he could miss close to 20+ games the rest of his career. Do you consider the trade a failure do to future cap ramifications. Would you still do this deal knowing the small contribution that Nate has made to the team.
Yes we got a great deal and Nate is a valuable asset
Maybe it depends on Q's back
No, Richardson will never be healthy again
Richardsons leadership is key to the teams success

at BEST, this trade is a wash. quentin isn't going to help us anymore. the guy will never play more than 60 games a season so he can not be counted as a key piece. the trade really turns out to be kurt for nate.

cap ramifications? well that doesn't matter anymore b/c isiah's gonna be here for a few more years.

I like Q, he's a integral part of any team WHEN he plays.

With that being said, he doesnt play enough anymore because of the constant pain in his back. The biggest problem with this is that favoring your back leads to all kinds of injuries and as Q gets older, more and more of these types of favoring injuries are going to occur. I don't think either team benefited from this trade since KT doesnt fit in the slightest with the Suns and has been injured.

"Great Deal" is probably too strong MS.

"Good Deal" regardless of what Q does from here on out, KT likely retires a couple years beforehand and for all those who advocate trading a guy before his value plummets, (THIS is when you do it... with an older player not Channing frikkin Frye) KT was a case in point. By the way, Credit Isiah for extending KTs contract rather than trade him as an EXPIRING like layden was about to do.

Nate could take this from a good deal to a great deal but i'm waiting to see what happens first.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I think Q has been more durable than Kurt since the trade believe it or not and he's the better player of the two. I think the Knicks could have pulled off a trade to get a higher pick and get either Granger or Green, but I'd still take Q over Kurt. We wouldn't need Kurt at all if Isiah had focussed on getting frontcourt players who can play defense.

I think its all about flexibility, kurt obviously is on his way out but would have been very valuable behind eddy and lee and shoud have allowed us to take granger at 8. But with q on the books for 3 and nate being a tweener, its tough to think its a good deal.

Thats why renting players is so important that fill a need like Cato, etc. You bring in a guy that will give you solid minutes and not tie up dollars long term

Agreed. Isiah needs to do more of this.

KT needed to go to clear up playing time for Channing & D Lee... it was a good trade... Isiah probably could have made better use of the pick though instead of taking Nate... i think adding Q to this team was essential to putting Marbury in his place & stop him from acting like he owned this team... you notice how Marbury has been humbled ever since Q went on that rampage in the lockerroom wanting to kick his ass... now the chemistry on the team is so much better... when KT was here, he was more worried about his contract, & fighting w/his own teammates for rebounds to pump up his own stats... he got into it w/Marbury but that didn't stop Marbs from acting like a punk.

Kurt would be nice since channing has been jinxin in up this year. I'd have to agree though and say the trade had to be made. Q is a good talent at the 3. Too bad he's cripple.

Nate was a good idea also. Nate has good talent. He still has to learn to be a point guard cuz that's the only place he is gonna be able to play as time trickles on.

Isiah talked about getting assets. Channing and Nate might not make it in NY after while, but they have talent and could bring in talent that fit better via trade.
