a buddy of mine works out in the conrad hotel in indiana and said he saw david lee this morning.

espn is reporting he's getting a 2nd opinion today so it's probably in indy.

why do i have an awful feeling that we'll be hearing that he'll require surgery to correct the problem & will be out for the rest of the season?

Unfortunately, you are probably right. The Knicks medical staff really is not up to par.

Glad to see he's not stupid enough to trust Isiah's hand picked doctor. The same one that misdiagnosed Crawford's stress fracture.

Isiah choose the teams new doctor i believe, but dlee said last week it was higher than thought and they looked at it and said he may have broken it at first, i think he is out a least another week if not more

High ankle sprain - that's the type of injury that regularly used to disable Chris Webber - it's rarely an easy thing to come back from.

The low ankle sprain is much more common - that's the type of thing that Dirk Nowitzki commonly gets and plays with the next day.

Not only did he hand pick the teams doctor but he made a big deal about how inept the prior Knicks team physicians were. Whether that was the case or not, the current one isn't much better.

aren't the knicks supposed to have one of the best strength and conditioning and medical staffs in the league? this season just keeps getting better

NY Post reporter interviewing Knicks team physician: "Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you diagnose David Lee with a high ankle sprain a few weeks ago? Why then is he now having to undergo knee microfracture surgery?"

Team doctor: "I said 'high', didn't I?"

Post reporter: "Oh right. My bad dawg."

We forget how awful our previous staff had been. They also made huge misdiagnosis, that cost players bigtime. I think this may just be a case where he expected too much. They said it was a high ankle sprain and we all know that's the worst kind. In sports very few teams have flawless medical opinions. Just do some research and you'll see mystery injuries and bitterness on players part with the team staff.
