I think the comparision to Shane Battier is just what this team needs, I think you use Channing Frye to get the Kid, I love Balkman, but I think this kid is the perfect role player that brings everything you need including leadership. It comes with chaning the culture of this team as a whole.

I think you need to use, Nate, Crawford, Frye, whatever to assure that we move up in the draft and select this kid.

a move like this would really show isiah has a plan and is building a winner. Add him to role players like Balkman and Collins and we are starting to put more grit on the floor, in combination with lee. If Isiah wants this team to reach the next level he really has to surround Curry with players that will make up for his defensive short comings.

3. Jeff Green, SF, Jr., Georgetown

The Good: The Big East Player of the Year is a throwback player whose versatility and unselfishness are his greatest assets. Green can do anything his team needs him to. He possesses an excellent inside-outside game, has a great basketball IQ that makes him a leader on the floor, is an excellent passer and will take over a game only when he needs to. His defense and energy on both ends of the floor can be infectious.

The Bad: Is he too unselfish? At times he fades into the woodwork during games to allow his teammates to get involved. However, that trait seems to disappear when the Hoyas really need him to assert himself. Green isn't an elite athlete and can be a streak shooter from long-range.

The Upside: Green is the type of player who every NBA coach will fall in love with. He's sort of a better version of Shane Battier. He has all the intangibles scouts look for in a player, but he also has enough athletic abilities to be an impact player in the pros. If he leads Georgetown deep into the Tournament (a real possibility) he's probably a lock for the lottery.

I had started a post on him after he got the big east player of the year award. What did he do? Lead his team to a big east championship. If this guy isn't what we all want in a player I dunno who is.

Lee
Green
Curry
Marbs
Craw

Baba ba ba ba...I'm lovin it.

I've been saying for awhile that Jeff Green is the exact type of player that this team needs and the guy just keeps on backing it up. I fear we won't have a shot at him though since he's going to be a lottery selection.

Is Balkman already the Battier clone that we want (minus the proven 3pt shot)?

That's important to understand. The knicks are proving how important it is to have an army of relentless players. Balkman has been unfairly benched but the dude is ready when his number is called. Jared seems to be getting more comfortable. I think if by some miricle that the knicks get Jeff green or luck out and get a player like him it would be golden.

Q and frye need to be replaced. Q with a Jeff green type, and frye with a more active body.

i agree we need to get rid of q before his back goes out for good and maybe including frye in a package could be a good idea. That way we have young guys and cap room in a few years

Thorton is a beast. I'm not sure if he is as poised as Jeff green but he is a good player.

Not saying green is the end all but their are a lot of talented swing guys that can do it all in this draft. Durant is the ultimate prize but this draft has some serious talent even if the knicks can't move up.

Jeff Green plays more like a PF.

Haven't seen Thornton play yet...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Well the knicks need a guy that plays like a power fwd but can play the perimeter too. Channing frye is a good shooter but he renders himself useless cuz he isn't mobile. Curry isn't a good rebounder. David is, but adding a dude that can do it inside and out will be a blessing to the bigs and the guys on the perimeter.

I like the freshman from Georgia Tech - Thaddeus Young. He has huge upside. He's a good athlete, he can hit from outside and play d. He needs to get a little stronger, but that will come in time.

Thad is nice too. If he declares the knicks have a shot at him. He would be nice to have while the knicks still are messing around with Q the original brokeback.

Marcus Williams could be available. Even Alando Tucker could slip cuz of his size, well height I should say. There is a whole fleet of them that could be coming out this year.

I'd take Jeff Green. He is a very good playmaker and he plays like a taller Colis williams on offense, defensively he is fine in the paint or above the 3point line.
Of the Small forwards in this he is probably 4th. Durant, the Kansas kid and Thaddus would all like;y go before him.

I think you do what you need to get the guy maybe our pick and nate to a team to get it done, look to sign pietrus as our sg and then look to perhaps package frye/crawford and see whats out there and completely turn the team over......

Memphis Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Mike Miller
6-8 SF from Florida
18.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 4.3 apg in 39.8 minutes
Kyle Lowry
6-0 PG from Villanova
5.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.2 apg in 17.4 minutes
Alexander Johnson
6-9 PF from Florida State
5.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.3 apg in 13.9 minutes
Incoming
Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.5 apg in 37.9 minutes
Channing Frye
6-11 PF from Arizona
9.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 0.9 apg in 25.9 minutes
Nate Robinson
5-9 PG from Washington
8.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.3 apg in 17.7 minutes

There are def some teams out there that would take mike miller if we choose to move him as well if not we can just swing this deal and target pietrus with the midlevel and see what happens in the draft this would really balance out the team

Marbury/Lowry
Pietrus/Collins
Miller/Q/Balkman
Lee/Jefferies
Curry/Johnson

Maybe even try to trade Miller and our draft pick for Artest, i really think that memphis might take that deal considering they have rudy gay and they get frye to go alone with warrick, gay, paul, their draft selection and maybe they have jamal run the point.....
