Reyshawn Terry
Birthday:4/7/1984
NBA Postion:Small Forward
Ht:6-7 Wt:232
College Team:North Carolina
878886787867
Overall
88NBA Comparison: Stephen Jackson

Strengths: Terry has a good amount of quickness to create separation from his defender … Athletically he is among the elite level athletes at his position in the college game … Physically he has all the tools one looks for in a defender … Long arms, quickness, and size … Underrated ball handler who can take opposing players off the dribble … Great help defender who gets a number of shot blocks by rotating over … Has three point range and can convert off the dribble or with his feet set … Unselfish player who looks to teammates often for offensive opportunities … Is capable of slashing to the basket and finishing in traffic with flair … When Terry gets going, he has the ability to put up big points … Great rebounder who uses his athleticism and long arms to make an impact … Though already a senior, he appears to have poential ... Has a great body that is NBA ready with good strength … Solid slasher who uses his leaping ability and body control to produce amazing finishes …

Weaknesses: A real hot/cold type player . There are times when the scoreboard wont keep up with him he scores so fast, other times however, it is easy to forget he is on the court ... Has a very good perimeter game, knocks down the mid range to outside jumper with moderate consistency ... When he scores, the points come in bunches ... Outside shots, drives through the lane, free throws, his offensive game has vastly improved ... An above average finisher at the hoop, usually converts when he gets to the charity stripe ... Has the ability to step back and take the 3 ... Excellent court vision for a player his size, one of the main reasons the offense revolves around him ... On defense this guy is an absolute workhorse ... Good on the ball defender and even better at anticipating passing lanes. Scrappy rebounder who picks up about 5 or 6 on a consistent basis ... Could be a nice player with continued improvement. There are times when he needs to demand the ball and make something happen ... Can be almost too team oriented, which is not a bad thing but some games require the stars to take over, and he hasn't learned to fully take on that responsability yet ... Needs to attack the basket more instead of always settling for the perimeter look ... Another year of college should do wonders for his game.

NBADraft.net has him available at #47 so we could actually trade down to get Terry. Then we draft,

DJ Strawberry
Maryland
Birthday:6/15/1985
NBA Postion:Shooting Guard
Ht:6-5 Wt:201
College Team:Maryland
2006 Statistics
869787787777
Overall
88NBA Comparison: Kendall Gill (less athletic)
Strengths: One of the top defenders in college basketball ... Has great instincts off the ball, especially jumping passing lanes ... Is very tough on the ball, with good length and quickness ... Quickly developing a strong mid-range offensive game ... Good ball-handler, a result of playing point guard his junior year ... Can play in the post, especially against smaller players ... NBA ready body ... Can take over offensively at times ... A true team player ... At his best in fast paced games ... Very smart on the break ... Causes a lot of turnovers ... Can make an open three, and won't force poor shots ... Plays intelligent basketball ... Hustles constantly and shows a lot of emotion ... A solid athlete with great body control ...

Weaknesses: Streaky offensively ... Seems to hit hot spots and then fall off of the game at times offensively ... Doesn't look for his shots enough ... Occasionally caught out of position in zone defense, much better in man-to-man ... A gambler at times in the passing lanes ... Not a consistant threat from the perimeter ... Still developing offensive game ... Quick, but not lightning fast and doesn't have amazing athleticism ... Occasionally turnover prone when asked to run offense ... Not capable of running point properly ... Not a great free throw shooter ... Appears to be a small 6-5, could be 6-4 ...

Notes: Strawberry has been known as one of the ACC's toughest perimeter defenders since his freshman year, when he jumped onto the scene with a great performance in Maryland's 2004 ACC Championship off the bench. Was the Terrapins starting point guard for the 2005-06 season.
Adi Joseph - 11/30/2006

NBADraft.net has Strawberry available at #44 so again, we can get him aswell.

I was thinking about the pick the bulls would be able to switch with us. The only way that we may be able to avoid a switch and still pick up someone who might be great for us is 'someone the bulls don't need'. Something they already have. We should also think about the possibilities of the bulls taking our pick and using it in a trade, with teams picking after us. That's going to be a tough one!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Two players that the Knicks should target and most likely be available to them is Rudy Fernandez (I don't think he will be there) and Sean Williams. But pieces to the puzzle. Fernandez and Williams make Frye, Q Rich, Cato, and JJ1 expendable. Williams improved his offense tremendously this year. Put him next to Curry and move Lee to the starting SF position. If you can walk away from the draft with both players with only giving up Q Rich or Frye, you call that a good day.

These guys give Thomas the option of playing versatile lineups with an extremely deep bench. Could poise matchup problems with teams every single night.

What are you talking about? The Bulls don't have any needs for those 2 players that I just mentioned.

The guy we should be targeting is Morris Almond, first and foremost.

Okay, but this thread is sort of moot right now, because the season isn't over and teams drafting behind us, they might need something the Knicks will have and the bulls may trade the pick with us, to make a trade for something the bulls might need later, with another team. That's what I'm talking about.

If the Knicks didn't have to potentially trade out pick over, then yes' we can talk straight up pick here otherwise.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I don't think Almond will be around. I expect him to go in the lottery. IMO he is a top 10 pick. The best SG to come out in sometime. Any other year he would get more attention. Fernandez is in the Knicks range and I don't the drop off from Almond is that much. Almond has the tools to be superstar. Fernandez is a piece to the puzzle.

That could happen at any point including draft nite. This is a forum to discuss different possibilities. I mean that is sort of silly to say that it is moot because the season is not over. Knicks could go on a winning streak or the Bulls could go on a losing streak to a point where everything is moot. I just responded to your point that the Bulls could take players that they have no current need for.

Good enough, but still, anything' can happen come draft night. Makes it real hard to target who'll we'll get is my point.

Fernandez would be a nice draftpick as well. He's quick and can shoot (let the Manu Ginobli comparisons begin.) I would take him before I went after Terry, although DJ Strawberry does interest me, he had a fantastic year this year.

Important note; If the Bulls trade the pick, then the recieving team DOES NOT have the right to swap the pick. The Bulls can draft a player and then trade the player.

I was referring to them trading 'our' pick, if they swapped with us.
