I love the way Marbury is playing. But I am worried that he, like Q, is going to become very undependable in regards to injuries. I am impressed he is playing hurt, but at some point it is going to get to the point where he just is unable to be the Marbury he has been. To me, the safe way is the better way in regards to him-especially when we got 2 possibly 3 starters(Marbury, Richardson-possibly Frye) that are getting injured alot.

I am just prefacing my idea with that so we all see where I am coming from with it.

That said.

Step 1-Trade for Mo Williams in a sign and trade. This kid is a great PG. He is a floor general, and although he is a scorer he intiates the offense well. He is also a pretty good defender. I really think Mo is about a $7-$8 mil a year player. Maybe Channing Frye and Jarred Jefferies and Nate for Mo Williams and a future first rounder? The Bucks can then field a team of

Nate
Redd
Villanueva
Frye
Bogut

Simmons can come off the bench with Jefferies makes them very big.

Step 2-Sign Deshawn Stevenson to a $4 mil contract. Lower than the MLE, Deshawn is only 25/26. He reminds me alot of Caron Butler. He is also a very big threat from 3. He's about 6-5 210. He's probably big enough to play the 3 in Isiah's type of running game he wants to implement. His defense definately wouldn't hurt either.

Now we got a HUGE surplus of wing players-Marbury, Mo Williams, Francis, Crawford, Deshawn, and Richardson. If Francis can actually increase his trade value, I would trade him for a HUGE horrible expring contract. Or a a couple smaller contracts and a pick.

Maybe the Lakers for Brian Grant's contract? Maybe a combo of some expiring contracts? Lakers get the PG they need. Worst case scenario, just buy him out.

Now we got Marbury, Mo, Craw, Deshawn and Richardson.

3-Draft Tyler Hansbrough(nbadraft.net has him going 26th) or the best available rugged PF at our spot in the draft for Lee's competition and as insurance. As of now, we would have the 22nd(that is the Bulls pick that we will get if they switch).

I would really look at a lineup of

Curry
Lee
Stevenson
Marbury and Mo Williams(as Co-PG's, obviously Isiah doesn't mind doing this since he is doing it already with Francis and Steph)

Q, Craw, Hansbrough, Balkman, Collins, Rose off the bench.

I like the look of that team.

Feel free to kill me now.

I'd like to get Mo Williams, but I don't think the Bucks do that trade.

I like Maurice Williams a lot. He has become cold blooded.Maybe Maurice could be had. Dude is one of my favorite players. He can be better than all of the knicks guards at times so I doubt it would work having him back-up anybody on the knicks.

Still the thought that marbs needs a capable back-up is right on the money.

As far as Stevenson? Nah man live him alone. The knicks have Collins. I think Collins can bring perimeter defense. Knicks don't need a guy Collins size playing F.

Knicks have tools to tinker and I hope they do. The knicks are right there as far as becoming a top team. This is a key time for our knicks.

My thing is Mo isn't a "back-up" at all. He is actually more of a replacement/insurance policy. Maybe Mo being the PG gives Marbury's knees some extra minutes by not pounding the ball up the court. Maybe it saves his ankles by letting Marbury play off the ball a little more and letting him use his jumper instead of driving to the cup and dishing. In my mind, Mo is Marbury's successor in no way a backup.

As for Stevenson, if Mardy can fill a SF/SG-with range and D roll like DS can, I'm all for it.

seriously? We'd be like 5-40 without Steph.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
