Lee Frye Malik and the pick to memphis for Pau Gasol?
Are you serious? I think you'd have to throw in 2 more first round picks. Malik and Frye have very little trade value right now. So you're really offering Lee plus a pick around 20 (if you're talking about Chicago's) for Gasol? How could they hear that offer and think they were better off doing that then keeping Gasol? They could probably get Ty Thomas, Luol Deng, and the Knicks pick from Chicago for Gasol.

And really, we should be trading Curry and keeping Lee anyway.

Luol Deng by himself might be better than Gasol.

Might as in a few years from now maybe. But Gasol would help that team now (during Big Ben's final years) more than Deng. Maybe you're right and I'm wrong, but I don't even understand the point. We should be keeping Lee and trading Curry, not the reverse. KEEP versatile, hard working young players. They're the ones who will help you win playoff games in the long-run. TRADE lazy, one dimensional players. They're the ones hopeful fans drool over but not the ones who win championships.

I just wouldnt trade Deng. I think that is a nice package for Gasol if they truly want to let him go--- Lee Frye pick 20?---but if they get Oden--they just plug Oden in @ C and Gasol @ PF. Who Knows?

Do you think they'd do the trade if you switched Lee with Curry (and maybe included Renaldo)?
I'd much rather have our PF/C combo be Lee and Gasol than Gasol and Curry.
I do think you're undervaluing Gasol in your trade proposals but maybe I'm overvaluing him too. He's a 20/10/2.5 blks/3+ assists player who's improving every year. I think Frye is viewed as a *below* average first round pick--maybe the value of an average 15 to 20th pick. (He didn't even make the R/S AS game.) I think it will take a lot to get a 20/10 7 footer who does everything on the floor. I know his man to man defense is not great, but it's his only weakness, and it's still better than any of the players we'd be giving up to get him. If I ran Memphis, I'd at least contemplate your proposal (Frye and Lee and #20), but I'd keep my 7' star.
