*Yep

Let me say,

I support Eddy Curry. Its not always been that way. But Knicks even at a gritty 28-34 record whatever happens to Knicks fortunes (playoffs or not) In the offseason If I am NY Knicks org. and
the $$$ PayrollCap and Knicks drafting is not good I'd do some deal during summer & a Big one! (NYK chucks pick to BULLs, curry deal)

Its also clear to me Knicks are in dying need of a BIGSHOT #1 player. As good as Stephon Marbury
played the last few months and "Starbury" seem to return, if NY is not going to even fix their
Defensive woes may as well have 2 STAR Caliber type players. Marbs has played well Win OR lose
but I am unsure if Marbs can be a real #1 team star leader also.

But its as clear that Marbury Cannot do it alone & Eddy Curry fold-eroo act has cemented in my mind
he will be no better than we have already seen. BIG In da SMALL Games & SMALL in the BIG games.

I don't fault Eddy but if you're honest knick fan and true to your own mind, Curry is NOT the
answer for neither a #1 OR #2 Star. WE or any NBA teams does not win on 1 talent like Marbs
and a bunch of skilled players. NO-WAY-NO-HOW!

As a matter of fact injured stud David Lee as a 6th man is much much closer to being an impact
guy next to the Steph-man, than Eddy Curry ever will be. Dont be fooled by all Curry's great
stats and points for a Center position. Its not even a Center league anymore. The guys playing
the Center spot are Big Forwards like Garnett & Dirk whom we know what kind of players they are.

Even if you want to say Garnett hasnt won squat his WOLVEs team beats our Butt any time any day
any place in a tougher Western conference. Kevin dont even have all the talented guys around him as
Knicks has. However you cant win OR build with just a bunch of talent NBAers alone.

Knicks are not a smart team. Some got heart but the team needs to do some BIG Trade in this yr
summer offseason. If the keep Marb ($contract) & deal whomever they want outside of David Lee its
fine with me as long as a Big shot NBAer comes back to New York. Old Shaq is about to take a
playoff spot & claim it for HEAT until master Dwayne Wade returns. *Believe it pla-yaaa. :)

Doesn't necessarily have to be Garnett or even some other Star who best years may be behind them. The Eddy Curry experiment is coming to an end. Yes improved Curry but he aint the answer
and HE NEVER WILL BE in NY. HE doesnt have that makeup to go to next level. Aint happening & the
sooner its realized the better! He is a nice guy Curry but he is NO Warrior. Next season is what
8th yrs ? HE does not have too much more window for improvement. He either can be a decent big time Center OR not (cant)

There are not too many BigShots which nba teams will give up STARs in megatrade anyhow. But this
is NEW YORK the mecca & Knicks has to try and plan for it. They wont get under any $$$Cap say
until our next lives. They wont get any no.#1 draft positioning ever for some Greg Olden. Any
wont be any more than a mediocre 28-35 win team for many yrs to speak. Been long time since Pat
Ew' left us eh ? :sob:

Not going to convince me otherwise its going to make NY contenders any other way.

Well, I can see some merit in some of your points, but to me all of this is a bit hard to really be so sure about when you look at the number of Knicks who have been out. Jamal, Lee and Nate in particular is a lot for us to make up for. Q was hurting as well and even with him back it was clear to me he wasn't 100%. The guy was moving very gingerly and I could see him wince in pain several times.

So what happens is that you have guys having to step up or do things they haven't been doing and we have some combinations that haven't been playing together all year. Then you have teams changing the way they defend us and in Curry's case, he already wasn't the best at dealing with Doubles and Triples, but now it got even more aggressive. I think the Knicks would DEFINITELY have won a game or 2 more if we had our guys. So I can't really say Curry will NEVER be the player we need inside. That is a work in progress.

I think this team is going to improve from within and with some additions and changes by Isiah. It won't have to be drastic, but some minor things that will balance this team. Balkman and Collins should be better next year and the team as a whole will be a step ahead of how they started this year. For some reason people seem to want this team to skip several steps of development, which is NOT how things work. Teams usually make a steady progression towards a title unless they make a big FA move like adding SHAQ! MOST other teams take a gradual path of improvement and I think the Knicks will be like that.

you made some good points, but that was very hard to read, anyway, I think the knicks need to groom a real PG behind marbury, and a Two way player at either the SF or SG position, I mean a real player, a guy like Josh Howard, or kelvin martin, these tpyes of players we need to go along with lee and frye and marbury. If you want to trade curry and feel that he has reached his ceiling, then you must get some size back, and I am not talking stiffs. I just don't see much out there...

First of all, you need to probly take some writing classes b/c it was impossible to read.

Second, we're not getting a superstar.

Best we can hope for is Artest or someone.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

''We don't have the luxury to take anybody lightly,'' New York's Quentin Richardson said. ''We're not that good.''

The things that separate the best teams from the rest aren't that big. You'd think that there was this large gulf, but really it's a player of 2 that often makes the biggest difference. Miami right now with a healthy Shaq is just OK, but with a healthy Wade, then you're talkin. You can do that with so many teams in the league. A player here or there can make a LOT of difference. Imagine we had Camby in there with Curry. You'd have a different feel altogether. Isiah has a chance to make something like that happen. We have to look for players that will complement the key players we have. Steph, Curry & Lee have established themselves so far. We haven't gotten much from Jared and Frye, but we still have time to work with them and get them to fill a role for this team. Adding a guy like Rashard Lewis and a strong help defender/shotblocker would go a long way towards fixing this team. I think Collins is beginning to show how he can fill a need for this team as well as Balkman. PATIENCE PEOPLE!!!!
