"I have come to the conclusion, being here in New York and understanding New York a little better, I don't think there's any way humanly possible we could want it as much as (the fans) do. If we can ever get to where they are, wow. Then you just roll out the balls."

WOW..... Is that supposed to be a compliment to us??? If so keep your ****in compliments and start caring more. You *******. Damn that pissed me off

I think this is the part of the problem I have with Isiah, he tends to not understand the NY mindset.

he's clearly not up to the challenge. he's abandoned the south side of chicago and he's ready to do his backwater indiana routine.

aw shucks isiah, too bad you never had a clue about what ny is about.

Agreed. And it infuriates me any time he talks about New Yorkers or the way things are in New York when he's such a damn outsider who doesn't know anything.

Isn't about time to pick apart another Stephon Marbury quote?

Or we could pick apart the David Lee quote about winning...

Yeah--this kind of stuff stinks. This is the exact kind of stuff that actually DOES make it hard for you to root for your own team. It's OK to take shots @ fans who pay more than any other fan either through tickets cable etc.. that allows you to draw multi million $ salary--that has sat through 5 years of highest payroll worst team stuff--that still explodes and is behind the team at most points 1000%. We have the emperor[dolan] an darth vader[IT] IT only has to kiss his lords arse--1 arse is not that big a chore for 7mm a year:)

what that quote really says:

The NY Fans have a greater desire to win basketball games than the players I brought in.

Bingo.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

yep....but why do the players show no desire to win...do they like being labeled as career losers?

I think isiah is right. There's NO WAY that Jared Jeffries has the same level of passion for a Knick Title that I have. 32 LONG YEARS OF PAIN!!!! TO me that's all he's saying. He has to get this team to WANT IT, that bad. If you watch the games you can see that there is still work to do in that regard. He's just being honest. When you see a guy like Frye or Curry not killing themselves every minute they're on the floor, then you get the idea that they don't quite have that ultimate level of desire that you need to get to the next level. The way Steph has been playing is more like what the ENTIRE TEAM should be doing. Lee and Balkman have that kind of desire. They give you every ounce of effort every game. They may not always do the right thing, but they really are trying. We need EVERYONE to play like that.
