Though Eddy Curry scored just nine points in Atlanta and Thomas slashed his minutes, Thomas said it's not a reflection he's abandoning the Knicks center as the offensive focus. Curry was worn out from the back-to-back. Also, without Crawford in the lineup, teams are collapsing on Curry more than ever.

"I just really didn't have it. I'm happy the other guys did have it," Curry said. "It wasn't one of those games I could push through."

Curry had "nothing in the tank," Thomas said.

"We know where our bread and butter is at," Thomas added. "We're going right back to the spot. He's drawing so much attention, double-, triple-teamed before he gets the basketball. Our guys are knocking down 3s now and shooting the ball well. Earlier in the season, we weren't knocking down those shots the way we're knocking them down now."

he needs to drop another 15-20 lbs this offseason. the guy is 24 years old - he should not be "worn out" in a back to back.

been saying all season, but the lovers just love to point out the progress he has made instead of realizing he came into the season way overweight again.....

He looks lost without crawford in the lineup he needs to be more assertive.......al jefferson another huge night in both departments, curry really needs to step things up for the final push.......

He's needed to drop 15-20 pounds for the past 6 years.

i was going CRAZY in the begining of the season over Currys weight. It was an absolute embaressment. The guy was HUGE. Its a miracle hes been able to do what hes done, he still needs to loose about 10 pounds. But he just needs to get in shape this offseason... I have a feeling he doesent eat very healthy. Knicks need to be on top of him

As any human Eddy has his limits.
If all centers play level will only depend on experience and skills we will have tons on Shaks in NBA.
But we have only one because the real Shak is a freak of nature.

I don't think Eddy should be the go to guy. He can be a good complimentary player.
He will be great playing 20-25 min and against right much-ups.
Playing him 30-35 min against anybody is silly, ineffective, and potentially dangerous

He needs to go on the cardio plan...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I am really interested in seeing how Curry could play if he lost 20 pounds. Most speculate that is his problem. Maybe it is. Hopefully, we can find out next year if Curry will commit to losing more weight.

Get Eddy down to 270 and get the hell out of the way.

It wasn't just a back to back, it was the 5th game in 7 days. Given the beating he takes down low I don't think it's completely unacceptable for him to be tired in that situation. If he showed a pattern of drastically reduced performance in back to backs in general that might be a different story.

Watching the game you'd never have even noticed if the announcers hadn't mentioned that Curry was on the bench.

It seemed like every other game.

i think the fact that he still needs work on his conditioning is an obvious one that everyone on this board realizes... not sure why some of the thickheaded peeps around here seem to be incapable of realizing that even if you praise a guy for some noticeable improvement in his game, it doesn't mean there still isn't more room for improvement.

So there is a dropoff for Curry on back to backs, especially for his shooting %, but nothing really drastic that suggests he's really out of shape. Judging by the ppg on the splits I'm assuming he plays around the same mpg too. I'd worry about his passing, rebounding and defense long before I'd worry about his conditioning, which seems ok to me.

Of course Curry can get into better shape, but the reason for him having dead legs is more about him being so consistently there night in and night out. You guys are something else. Do you realize that over the course of a season EVERYONE has nights like that? I mean come on! You've never seen an in shape slender player be tanked after a grueling stretch of games? This is just another example of needless banter about a guy who has been a HUGE plus for this team and who deserves the benefit of the doubt for just hitting a wall. It's a HUMAN THING, not just a curry thing.

Now i'd like to see him get into GREAT shape, but that won't mean that he won't ever have dead legs. He'll just be able to go harder and faster in every game. The way humans play sports you tend to expend energy at the rate that you can sustain and if you're a guy who can fly up and down all night then you probably will and after a long stretch of game you'll get tired just like a heavier guy who hasn't been moving at quite the same speed.

Curry had a tough week. As long as he's there for us down the stretch, I'll be happy. It's worth noting he faced quite a few triple teams this week, which helped Steph go off.
