It's not secret here that I'm a big supporter of Marbury...I'm happy to see his game surge just when the Knicks needed scoring..It's hurting Curry a little at the moment but I think it's important for the Knicks to make this playoff push...It's also important to get Lee back and get Balkman minutes...We need to get the young players involved in this playoff push and then in the playoffs...I've always though it was important for young players to get playoff experience...When they lose in the playoffs, it makes them work harder in the off season to get better...We all know we have talented players who need lots of work in the off season...So I for one, was cheering Marbs when he refused to let the Knicks lose the last two games...

It was a popular sentiment that Marbs does want to win and he is not a winner...If a guy can give the effort that Marbury has given the last few games, knowing his about his injury, he is a winner in my book...His effort level has been there and is willing to sacrifice his game for the good of the team...Can't say enough about his play on both ends of the court this season...Nuff props to Marbury!!!

I've always been a Marbury supporter even though I can fully understand people's frustrations with him career-wise. I've been frustrated with him at times too, but I've always just liked him personally anyway. I'm thrilled to see him playing well now. He really deserves to make the playoffs this year and to finally make it to the 2nd round.

We can use a warrior term for him again. I think he always was... Lone warrior

But he will be a winner when his team will wins something.
A couple of playof games for example...

I was telling my brother, when we got to the Hornets game I may have to wear my Ewing Home Replica in the first half and dust off my Stephon Marbury Home Jersey for the second half!

He is playing awesome.

My philosophy is if you have to talk about the point guard during the game he is not doing his job. Marbury's 38 (except for when he took over in 4th and overtime) was quiet and in the flow of the game. This is the potential Stephon has. I hope all he needs is the summer to heal his injuries.

I think this has always been there for Marbury...He can get those in the flow of the game but it hurts the team...I really believe that this was in him all along but the coaches wants him to pull back and let the young players get involved...It's the only way the team as a whole can get better...But I think when Craw went down and Lee is out, I think Isiah told him we needed Starbury back to push for the playoffs...

I also think he rebelled when LB and Zeke told him to pull it back...He needs to find that balance to know when to turn it on and when not to...Also, he is not always automatic..So it's a tricky thing with him...

I'm also publicly joining the Marbs-wagon- I respect his two-way game this year, the one thing I always cringed about with Marbs was his stupid quotes after the game. He makes up for it with his game effort, and as a person he makes up for it in my eyes with all the $$ he dishes to charity.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Marbury is playing a totally different game now. A game where his offense is in the flow of the offense. I love the way he is playing because this is the way I was hoping he would play. Whether it's under LB or Isiah I don't care. All I asked of him was to play hard and be a leader and he is doing just that.

Look, I am not one who didn't like Steph. I got his jersey his first year with the Knicks(Home white, baby!) But his career here ha been an absolute circus. He has all the talent in the World(the talent to be the best PG in the L, I've said it before). I would love nothing more for him to cut out the extra stuff and just show me how great he can be on the court.

HUGE Steph supporter here and i've taken hits on every forum i've been on for it. I always felt that this guy had this kind of game in him. Thank goodness it's happening this season and I hope we can make it to the playoffs so that this team can get a sense of that experience and build from that. Steph has always played hurt and never really talked about it. He just goes out and does his job. Isiah has found a way to get thru to him and I believe that's his gift. That he can relate to players and get them to buy into what he's telling them to do. Steph is defending and running the team so much better this year. I'm just glad to see it.

I like what Marbury's been doing recently. I've run hot and cold on him, but right now he's playing the best overall game I've seen from him. He's not the best defender in the wold, but he's working hard on D and making a difference these days, and he's making some big shots down the stretch.

So yes, props to Marbury. I hope he keeps it up.

Well I'm glad he is finally stepping up to the plate. Let's just hope he continues playing this way and does not take night's off like when we play back to back games.

He's playing very well. He's done this before in spurts, like he's doing now before. So let's hope it sticks.

Yeah, people tend to think in black and white terms about Marbury, but he's definitely had great stretches on both ends of the court like this one before. He was outstanding on both ends of the court in Phoenix the year before he got the contract extension. I thought he played well on both ends in his first year on the Knicks too.

I sense something different this time. Marbury could prove me wrong of course. But hitting the big 30 has got to be sobering for someone with Marbury's physical talent, and I think Isiah has Thomas has been good for him, becuase Marbury clearly respects Thomas, and he's not in a position to blame the coach or the system anymore so, as far as Marbury is concerned, it's put up or shut up time.

"This is my 11th season, I understand that everyone is banged up," Marbury said. "I've got an unfortunate injury with my toe. It's very uncomfortable playing with it because I've got a plate underneath the bottom of my shoe and I've got to tape it certain ways. So for me, it's just doing whatever I have to do to continue to be competitive and give ourselves a chance every night."

He's our new starting PF. Isiah had to find someone to start ahead of Lee.

In a wierd way, think it helps Steph that Jamal went down. I like Steph being "the man", at the end of quarters/end of game. I always preferred him bulling his way to the hole, forcing foul or double, getting layup/open J for teammate to Jamal doing his crossover and pulling up for J. I think the game's clearer to Marbs now that he's not deferring to Jamal's 1 on 1 ability.

Plus, think the challenge of him covering the best guard on the opposing team come crunch time is helping him take more pride in his D. Whatever it is, he is balling and deserves props.
Much Props to Starbury...
