Trade with Memphis and Orlando just happend
It sends Miller and Humphry to Memphis for Drew Gooden and Giricek
I think Orlando sent draft picks as well to memphis 2003 first adn 2004 second
so maybe this will open the flood gates

Because that would give us 4 guys playing the same positions (houston spree miller anderson).

Gooden's offensive potential is much greater than KT. They are looking towards the future where they can add a top scoring threat in the post to complement mcgrady.

Why would we give away our center for Mike Miller? I'd fly down to NY and slap the **** outta Layden.

But I think this trade hurts NY's chances at the playoffs. The Magic just got a lot better. Giricek will bring some punch to the bench, and Gooden is very underrated. The cardinal sin is trading away your top first rounder before giving him time to develop. I think we'll be looking back at this trade and laugh at the lowly Grizz. That first rounder was from Sacramento, so it doesn't even come close to evening that deal out. I think the Magic may just have enough now to secure that 8th spot.

Man, does anyone else think it's wierd that just about everyone from T-Mac's shoe commercial has been doomed to leave Orlando? Horace Grant, Mike Miller. I'm betting Doc Rivers is out in a month. Any takers?

If Orlando had a legit shot at KT, they would have taken him. Hell, if the Mavs could get KT, they'd trade it up. KT's a great player, on defense and on the boards, and he isn't gonna get any worse with McDyess helping him down low.

KT will get worse. He average what he is because Dyess isnt here. Kurt settles for 15ft jumpers when he really should be downlow. He is a PF not a C. He plays hard when he wants to, he isnt consistant.

That is a great trade for the Majic. Man they got a starting power forward, and a starting PG in Giricek. This guy is going to be an excellent player he has all the tool ball handling , shooting and he can dish it too. I think with this team the majic are a step closer to the playoffs than the Wizards and Knicks.

That is a strong lineup that they have going in Orlando.

Never underestimate Jerry West. I think he pulled off another nice trade here.

The Grizz had a logjam at the 4, with Gooden -- who apparently was becoming a cancer in Memphis -- taking minutes and shots away from the franchise player, Pau Gasol. Giricek is at best, a decent offensive player with little defense to speak of.

So, without giving up anything they needed, the Grizzlies filled a big hole by getting Miller, who solidifies their backcourt.

They now have a solid lineup of Williams, Miller, Battier, Gasol and Wright, and have also picked up a few extra draft picks.
We suck.
