Marc Stein from ESPN.com writes:

The Knicks and Scott Layden are known for making long-shot proposals in an eternal swing for the fences. The latest: New York has apparently called Washington, more than once, with this, uh, ambitious idea -- Latrell Sprewell and Othella Harrington for Jerry Stackhouse, Christian Laettner ... and Kwame Brown. If you're thinking that's a lot to ask for, you're right.

Now I love Sprewell, and wish nothing more than for him to stay, but wouldn't that be a fantastic trade? Stack can play the 3, and I have a feeling Kwame is gonna blow up in the next couple of years. If only it were so...
go knicks!

i'd do Spree, KT, Ward, Travis Knight (Cap relief for Wiz) for

Stackhouse, Christian L., Kwame, Jahidi White

Spree | Stackhouse

Spree - not injured anymore, has a 2 more years, but THE defender you want on your team for the playoffs, great complement to Michael
for
Stackhouse - still injured, makes NY younger, wiz don't have to worry about resigning him this off-season, we could sign and trade him somewhere if we wanted to this off-season

KT | Kwame

KT - great season, but time to deal for youth. KT was a lotto pick, and if mike is going for a final push, KT is what he needs downlow, plus KT can be sign and trade bait for Olowokandi in the off-season for the wiz, or can be dealt to any other playoff contender for future picks. if we can't pull off this trade, the Magic sure are interested in KT, and probably for Mike Miller, and a future first, or some scrub like Andrew DeClerq (expiring contract) and 2 future firsts.

for

Kwame - Not the guy that the Wiz need right now, and so far has been a bust, but could be huge in a few (3 or so) years. if you're building for the future, you go this route - the only thing is, the Wiz after this season are building for the future as well.

The wiz could use ward's toughness at PG, and would want to dump jahidi's long term contract as haywood and etan thomas are their future at center for now.

Christian L. is another contract they'd like to dump and we could send back Knight whose contract ends soon.
