This brings us to the strange saga of Steve Francis, who acts as if he wants to be any other place besides New York.

Does anyone really believe that Francis was in such bad shape on Monday that he was talking about possibly being done for the season and now he is expected to play Friday? I don’t doubt that Francis is experiencing some soreness in his right knee. But if he can play tomorrow night against the Warriors, how come he couldn’t suit up on Wednesday when the Knicks needed him?

I already called this and alluded to the fact even when he was down in Houston he wasn't as hurt as led to believe. Remember this is the guy that said last yr after being on the team for a few weeks, he'd be a lock as a starter. He just doesn't like it here.

It led to Francis going back on the alcohol binge, John Lucas didn't help him enough.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Good call. It was an unsual assignment. In typical KNick fashion the propoganda machine keeps it under wraps. Knicks might have caught him before the league suspended him and sent him to reform school, or "The Lucas House for overprivilaged children".

Now if we can cure CryBury of his addiction to cheap sneakers we might have somting.

Marbury has "turf toe"?

Ok, anyone have those plastic pieces of crap? They suck! No pro player, let alone an old dude like me even want to play in those "Slippers"! Maybe Craw busted his ankle trying to support CryBury's WalMart Indochina youth sweatshop special man made uppers?

I hope CryBury has the sense to have some secret stash of look alike "CryBury1's" and keeps then under lock and key when not in use.

Pay a guy 20 mil to wear fawteen dallah skippies and he gets turf toe shore does not sound like a good investment to me.

Because of the Crawford situation, Francis tries to come back from injury against advice, better judgement, etc....and people are killing him for it.

Unbelievable.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

If Francis is ok to play, why did he talk about shutting it down for the season just a few days ago? You think he feels like he owes the Knicks his health and well being? You think he thinks that if the Knicks make the playoffs he has a shot at a ring?

If I recall the quote correctly, he said he wasn't sure if he could play again this season, and he sounded very sullen and frustrated. Then Crawford got hurt, leaving the team shorthanded. It is a different situation than what it was a week ago.

I guess one could draw the conclusion that he was faking or dogging it, but you would have to ignore the way he has been playing, no dunks, no explosiveness, obviously hurt.

In regard to the sentences I made red: I don't know if he thinks those things, but they are extreme conclusions to draw. I think the more likely conclusion is that if the team has the players to fill the back-court without him they/he decided that he should not be out there at 50%. Now, with the team broken down, he is going to try and give what he can.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I remember reading that the average age is 26 and we're right at that number. So we're NOT a young team; we're just a bad team
On edit: Thanks for the good work, Joe!

Not to be a geek, but any site that shows median age? That might be a better indicator, since any team with a 40 year old player gets nailed and any team with a 19 year old player gets a boost in the age category. Just a thought.
