I do read this forum everyday.I realize there are some of you that are lovers and haters of our Knicks and after reading all the posts i can understand your reasons for being a lover and a hater. But i have been a Knicks fan from 1967, i even used to keep a journal and boxscore when the Knicks werent on tv and only on radio. The only thing I ask from the team is to be competative and make me want to watch their games. Last year I never looked forward to watching their games because , as a fan I could tell they really werent into the game because of LB. I dont know what LB said or did to this team last year but they just didnt seem to want to play for him. This year it seems they actually like IT. I can see it when they come into the huddle or they are substituted for, IT actually talks to them and they to him and it seems like he listens to them.I cant remember LB having that look in his eyes like what a player is saying actually makes sense. So I know I might get bashed for this but its just my opinion. Maybe ill post more in the future but i do believe there is a possibility for the playoffs and tell me isnt that a big step forward??

I'd like my boss too if I were never held accountable for anything and got pampered all the time.

Are the playoffs a possibility because they're playing so well or is it a possibility because of the weakness of the conference thanks to major injuries to teams that most thought would do better?

It's big step forward for them as people to have better work environment.
This by itself can improve the team results.

But there are a lot of other things which are still wrong.
The politics is still dominating the bbal decisions and players are gone from being criticized and blamed for everything to being relived from any responsibility.
We don't need dramas. But we don't need soup operas either.
We want some hard work and professionalism; we want accountability for GM, coaching stuff, and players...

Yes. This is boring stuff but this what the club needs to recover from the bottom of NBA and became the respectable organization and successful team

I'm with you cooch. I see progress with this team. We are much better this year than we were, last year. For whatever reason, these guys seem to want to play this year. There are a lot of positives. Stephon is playing as a team player, David Lee is playing PF not being forced to learn SF etc. This teams record has improved every month and I am all for the baby steps. I actually liked the LB head coach hire last year. At around the middle I didn't know wtf to think and when he bounced, I was really pissed. This year is different and its a welcome change.

I wish this team the best of luck. I hope we can make a good trade for an important piece. I hope Eddy starts to learn defense. I hope Balkman gets some burn. I hope this team improves and we start seeing results.

well your opinion does make sense. and I thought you did a good job of gettig your point across too. I don't agree with it though. I suppose techincally the fact that our team isn't widely considered to be the worse run in all of sports anymore, and the players and the coach aren't on totally on different pages anymore is a step up from last season, but honestly our franchise should never have been that bad in the first place. I mean, I don't see why Isiah should be congratulated from turning the knicks around from laughing stock to mediocre, when he was the one that put together the coach and the roster that became a laughingstock in the first place.

also I suppose that this team still has a chance to make the playoffs from a purely mathematical standpoint. but realistically unless a switch in their heads that has been off since Isiah acquired them all of a sudden turns on , it's not going to happen.

Hey guys thanks for the input.I was kinda surprised there werent more replies but then again its the middle of the day so ill ck back later. Its true IT should not be rewarded but the past is the past and we gotta look to the future.GM's of major co's like GM,GE etc get millions of bucks for making mistakes and then leaving the company.Imo I believe IT knows that the LB thing was a mistake, along with some other moves but I gotta give him some props he stuck around.I know, I know hes making lots of $$$ to stick around but lets just think here, who in his right mind would offer him ANYTHING if he messed this up??Its not like hes coaching a small market team, this is the NY KNICKS, with a unforgiving media and fans. He wouldnt be able to work nowhere if he messed this up and he doesnt deserve too!!

Larry is old school and thinks if your a professional you get paid to do your job and listen to the coach. At this level you should not have to teach fundamentals.

Funny, early on many media types said larry would have a hard time with his team listening to him. Early on some guys claimed they learned more in camp then from anyone else!

Midway thru the season larry was complaining that he never had a team that he had to "motivate" and he can't beleive he has one!

Somthing went terribly wrong last year and I think its a combination of Larry being an old school perfectionist and the group of players who were on the roster. Having the highest payroll in the league with low self esteem and bringing in a guy like larry was pretty dumb. Even dumber is to wait until hes gone to start paying off salaries! Larry is the coach and wanted what he wanted. Isiah either gives it to him or does not hire him to begin with.. Larry then went on his grumpy rant and the combo of throwing up his hands with that group with the team tuning him out spiced up by Dolan being a little boy was prett fatal.

Isiah to try to rescue this team needed to pander to their immature side and make it "fun" again!

NO way we should have lost 23 games last year, but I don't consider anything less than 40 game to be all that appealing given the talent level of the team.

Even without the injuries of late, this team is a ball of pychosis and very unstructured in its construction.
