“I think we’ll have a better understanding now,” Marbury said of playing without Crawford. “Now that we’ve played a game, we have a game under our belt, it will be a lot easier to go out and play a certain style. The game has definitely changed without him.”

meaning, they didn't know what to expect until they actually got out there and experienced it. on paper you know he gives you about 18, but its all the other things that dont show up in the stats column that he is referring to. Bad loss, but a decent quote, I can understand that.

you take away a guy that plays 40 mins a night and handles the ball for 1/2 the game and there's going to be an adjustment period. i think after they finished crying over their lost dog, they played much better in the 2nd half.

they need to adjust to jamal being out. that's a big task.
then they need to adjust to adding nate into the fold. another not so easy task.

but you know what, if they had nate and lee last night, the knicks may have won that game. i chalk last night up to the shock value (although it did look eerily similar to many many many games from this season).

but i'm only giving them that game. they need to wake the F up and bring it from the start vs. the warriors - especially eddy. this ain't like ewing breaking his wrist.

This is a characteristic of this team - to be reactive rather than proactive -and to let the other team set the tempo and tenor of the game

So now that they learned the hard way that they didn't come out aggressive enough against the Celtics, will they come out just aggressive enough tomorrow to theoretically beat the Celtics, or will they be ahead of the curve and give enough to beat the team they'll really be playing - the Warriors?

One step ahead or one step behind?

“It was a different feel out there,” said Curry, who finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds. “Man, you don’t know how much you miss somebody until they’re gone.”

BlueSeats - the Knicks rhythm on the floor to start was uncertain. How does any team simply come out missing a major part of its offense and play the same?

With that said, I'm with djsu, damn the adjustments... full speed ahead!

and how bad IS Lee's ankle?

Is coming back too soon worth the risk?

Or is he simply not able to play through pain?

You're right misterearl, they shouldn't be expected to do anything but come out dispirited and spineless. I may have picked up on that MO 2 or 3 years ahead of you, but now we know we've arrived at the same realization and expectation.

When Jamal Crawford informed Stephon Marbury on Tuesday morning Crawford was out for the season, the Knicks point guard thought the combo guard was joking. When Marbury realized Crawford was serious, Marbury broke down and cried for more than a minute, according to a team source.

[Translation]Marbury says, "Craw is useless. We have me to take big shots. The game has definitely changed without him.... for the better.[/Translation]

^ Looking for something like that, misterearl?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I 100% co-sign this. Mourning is over, its time to get back to business against a very beatable team.

i think Marbury has some emotional issues... he seems to take things really hard... crying because a teammate can't play the rest of the year? that's not natural... Marbury broke down over that whole Katrina thing too which in itself i could understand, but breaking down during a press conference isn't all that natural.

Yeah, he reacts very strongly. I don't even know about the Katrina thing being normal. It's one thing to feel sad and sorry for victims, but breaking down and crying is a bit excessive. It's better than some people who have the opposite issue and just don't care about anyone

I'd rather have a person who cares about fellow humans, be they tortured victims of government neglect or simply an injured teammate, any day of the week.

Ever seen a person shot and not flinch?

The big thing about Katrina was his big donation not his tears.
And the big thing about Jamal will be him to step up his game not cry.
Will see what he has.

So now Steph-anie is a Humanitarian in the mold of Ghandi and Mother Teresa.

That explains why he's been such an a-hole to coaches and teammates alike throughout his career.

Takes one to know one

I don't get hung up on players personalities. Who is in the locker room enough to know, or care about, how players interact?

Hell, Kurt Thomas beat his wife.

Nobody is trying to deify Kurt Thomas here.
