his #'s from the final 2 months of last season:

g min pts fg% 3fg% reb ast stls
march 10 20.9 11.5 43.8 27.3 1.5 2.3 0.7
april 11 30.5 12.1 48.5 53.6 2.1 3.0 1.9

he put up pretty decent #'s for a rookie towards the end of last season.
time to make him a part of our offense again and pump up his value.

I think we are going to be much better without JC. The guys replacing him are better shooters or better defenders.

problem with Nate is he does all his stuff out of the flow of the offense. Jamal was getting better at scoring within the offense. can Nate throw a post pass to Curry? :prays:

nate has been cast to the side and his development has taken a hit. it's going to take some time for him to get re-acclimated to getting major minutes and it's going to take the rest of the team some time to get acclimated to life without crawford for the next 20+ games.

for THIS team...THIS season, losing crawford hurts alot b/c we do not have another guy to help steph handle the ball for major minutes. if francis is home alone, then nate has to step up his game. but it could look ugly for a few games.

agreed.

Isiah basically picking MArdy Collins over Marcus Williams hurts even more now.

The same thing happened last season and he did alright. And yes Nate will make mistakes since he will be rusty, mostly passing. But I expect he will be pretty clutch with his shot as he always has been. Besides, couldn't Collins come in and play some minutes at PG?

Nate kind of dug his own hole this season by freelancing way too much. I don't know. I loved the way he played last season, but he's been a huge disappointment this season.

I'd like to see Mardy at the point and Nate at SG. We all know Nate ain't a PG and I hope everyone realizes how horrendous Francis has been this season. I'm sure Francis will make yet another half-hearted comeback attempt though.

this team is still trying to make the playoffs. mardy will not get run at the point unless things are going really bad.

Nate is gonna come through for the team. If you stand on his balls you could see Jesus taking a bubble bath. He's good for a blown assignment or two but he will carry the knicks at times. I'm definately not worried about Nate.

I'm rooting for Collins. Isiah probably won't throw him to the wolves yet cuz Q could start at the 2 with Nate and brokeknee francis backing up. Still I hope he can show is something!

here is the thing with Nate- last year, he was one of the few guys with heart and that won some games for us.

I believe he can be a PG in this league- though in the mode of Marbury vs. Nash- nothing wrong with that as a guard off the bench.

Picked up nate on my fantasy b-ball teams, I hope he prevails and help me improve in some areas.

By build up, do you mean they put 6 inch lifts in his shoes?

I am delerious i just saw a jamal does a better job of scoring in the flow of the offense, something he hasn't done his entire career.

I think if isiah uses the right combinations which he won't he give jefferies more minutes, frye more minutes, we will be much improved on the defensive end, everyone is acting like his 40% and 3 turnovers a game while playing no defense is irreplacible. Crawford will be missed in the final 8 minutes, we need to find someone to step up when the game is in the balance, thats his real strength as a player

I'll partially disagree here. Marcus Williams seems to score well and pass great, but he does ZERO on the defensive end. So, he sort of does what Jamal does, in some ways better, some ways worse. I think we use this time to play Collins and Balkman. We will be better off imo.

We need a pg, and jamal is not a pg, he may show flashes but i think williams will be a better shooter for his career, and some games you see the flashes, adjusting as a pg is a very tough thing to do from one level to the next, still would have loved him and lowry on this team....

Crawford is the perfect sixth man, but a starter he is too streaky, he is either awesome or terrible and a player like that can't be one of your key compenents

Jamal is a lot like Gilbert Arenas IMO... yeah, i'm sure i'll catch flames for that, but i see a lot of similarities in their games... the only difference being Arenas is a better shooter from 3 pt range while Jamal has better ability to create his own shot off the dribble... i think if Jamal was given free reign to score at will & looked upon as the main option like Arenas is, he could average at least 25 ppg easy... both guys are very streaky shooters, but so are a lot of other starting G's in the NBA, both past & present.

TMS If Jamal was given free range to score?

He has free range, there is a reason he shots 40% from his career, he is a bomber and no player gets get more slack for his poor shooting.

I wouldn't say its the worse comparison, Arenas is better at going to the rack which i think has something to do with his extra 20 pounds on his frame. Arenas is always better at getting in the passing lanes, a little better ont the glass, but i their shot selection if pretty similiar...

I would say the biggest difference and it prevents crawford from being a great play is he doesn't get to the line enough, arenas is there almost 10 times a night, crawford hard pressed to get there 5 times, something with good coaching he would do. I don't think he puts in a lot of work in the offseason, he should be able to add a little weight to his frame
