I saw the Portland game and it is evident that the most needed position the knicks have is a center. They are way to undersized to beat any of the top team with size. If you think about it the teams they really beat up on are teams that have a weak center. I think the Laker game was a excellent example with no Shaq they were able to do whatever they wanted. It didn't matter that they were undersized. But the portland game really exposed them even though they played all out they lost because a lack of a center. Davis, Wallace and Sabonis even Randolph had their way with the Knicks. I think if the Knicks have to address a need it is a center, more than any other position. KT is to small and sometimes he gets his numbers but I think he is more PF than center. They shouldn't be thinking about trading Spree for KVH they should be out there trying to get a legit center.

It really took you this long to figure that out? Wow...
If anyone knows of a SMART Knicks forum, with lots of activity, and minus people like PLAYA... holla at your boy.

I figured it out a long time ago but it is unfortunate for the knicks fans that NYK management hasn't figured it out yet. They are still trying to trade for other positions other than what they really need a true center.

VMART.. thats why we have to trade Kurt. Your not going to get a front-court player for Spree. I'd just keep him and trade Kurt, Ward, and maybe our second rounder for some young big-guys. I do like Swift's athletic ability... he'd be nice alongside McDyess. I do like Eric Dampier's size and strength. I'd even role the dice on trading for Curtis Borchardt. If we could get Gasol without giving up Milos it would be a revelation.

The way I see it this year has turned upside down from my stand point. I really wanted the KNicks not to try to make a run for the playoffs. I think right now NYK is their worst enemy they should be jousting for ping pong balls and trying to get the best available talent. At the end of this year they will most likely be pick between 9-12. I can see the Knicks trading their pick for say Curry from the Bulls or even in a sign and trade for Olowakandi. They may be able to get a center type in the draft like a Kaman or Kendrick Perkins which I think will be a project at best. I still believe the best situation that the Knicks can put themselves in is if they get a good position in the draft so they can get in the top three for draft pick. With that they can pick Milicic but like I said it doesn't look like lottery luck is coming the Knicks way only because they don't sem to want it.

The Knicks aren't the only ones that lack that true big, bang inside centers, so does the majority of the NBA. Currently right now, there's a deficiency in big physical men all over the NBA. That's why people like Kurt thomas, Ben wallace or Brian Grant who are natural power forwards are forced to play center. Other Centers out there who happened to have the height but not the strength have used other ways to capitalize. Players such as Raef Lafrentz, lethal shooter from the outside or even Todd Mccullough who happens to have probably the quickest hands for a 7'0 footer. If the Knicks were to get a legit big men with the expense of Kurt Thomas, it woul be difficult due to salary cap reasons. Who do you want Shawn Bradley????? HELL NO, he's too soft for a 7 footer.

Your so right about the lack of quality big men in the NBA. I think the KNicks shouldn't be looking for a center that is going to be a 20-10 guy because there is only one player out there like that and thats Shaq. What they should be looking for is a player that is 7' and wants to rebound and play defense first and score when he is given the opportunity. I think Curry or Olowokandi can be that guy. With the KNicks they won't be looked at to score much so they can concentrate on the defensive side and getting rebounds. They need a player that will alter shots and make opponents think twice before going in the middle. With a lineup of:

Dice pf
Spree sf
Olo or Curry c
Houston sg
Eisley/ward/vujanic pg

I think the KNicks can go far in the east and possibly compete at a high level for a championship.
