jordan farmar kwame brown and mckie from the lakers? If Im the Nets--don't I take that for Kidd @ age 34--35 next year? It's NOT easy to rebuild and IF IF the nets get 2 TWO quality BIGS next year--don't lose Carter for 0--Kristic comes back 100%--they have a one year window?

Depends on where in the draft the picks would be projected to go. Two late first rounders stinks. Two mid first rounders or better would be a nice trade for the Nets.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't think they're gonna make it past the 2nd rd in the Kidd era. I'd have taken the best young package I could get for him. That was a good one.

Point is that it matters where the first rounders are. I can understand them holding out if they were late picks, but I do agree that they should try to deal Kidd as soon as possible.

I agree it matters where they are but I don't think they'll get a better package than that. They were getting two good young players PLUS the draft picks. Kidd's getting older and his value is only going to decline.

Ahem. Didn't they go to the finals twice during the Kidd era?

I'm talking about the future. You can't justify blocking efforts to rebuild just because Kidd helped the team reach the finals many years ago.

They don't need Farmar right now. He's a promising young point guard but so is Marcus Williams and I see no reason for them to get excited over him. Kwame has been hurt all year and I think he has a reasonably sized contract and he's decent but nothing great. I think they would have pulled the trigger if they were able to get a potential game changer like a Bynum or any other young player with a higher ceiling. They love Kidd in Jersey and want him as the face of the franchise. I don't blame them for holding on to him. It might hurt them a little in the future but who knows. Kidd makes others around him so much better that even in a bad case scenario if they were really rebuilding they would still play at a higher level because of Kidd. Plus the east sucks right now so why panic

I thought it was common knowledge that Rod Thorn only makes deals if he's ripping the other team off.
