Since Laydumb came aboard, it seems the management since then hasn't brought anything good out of anyone.

Highlights since Ewings career ended:

Spreewell super sprinting ability all the way to the finals
JVG winning coaching ways!
Larry Johnsons four point killer shot against Indiana
Allan Houston's 'the bounce'!
Crawfords five game winning shots!
Nate's slam dunk championship!
And bright spot David Lee's game (coming off the bench)!

I don't think I forgot anything, but that's about it. Everything else has basically been a failure or just didn't work out as expected.

And it might not be until next year that the real Jared shows up.

I also posted elsewhere- part of the problem is there is only so much room for intangible type players- and we've got Lee that basically goes out and gets all the intangible plays...

the positives of jeffries is he that he has length, some size, decent defense and he is a above avg LONG HELP DEFENDER.......... problem is that he isnt a dominant one. Unfortunately, there are too many holes within our defense....if jeffries can actually pair up with another great defender that will allow him to either rebounder or decide to go for a block more i think he will be a good player to have. yes we know he is a liability on offense but DEFENSE was the reason we signed him.

I call for him pairing up with someone like KG. KG would help spread the floor offensively and allow him to roam and cut with another good passer or he can choose to run in to crash for a rebound. however, that is another topic.

Even though he hasnt been playing well, I dont really blame him. Hes a tweener and should be paired up with either better defenders as a team or at least another more dominant defender. He cannot cover for curry or/and another player weaknesses by himself.

Some of those things were said about Q last year- that his outside shot was lost, we needed to trade the bum.

He came back strong this year, and has certainly gotten hurt, and as a consequence, has slowed up. Still, he is more of the player we expected.

This is NY- there is a lot of pressure to come in and perform. I think Jared can deliver on some of the things we hoped for.

Question- did he ever have a long range game?

With our team, when he is on the floor- curry has the paint all to himself and he is often out on the perimeter (3pt line)- that is not his strength- and I am sure last year with Washington, with Arenas, Butler and the motion offense they have, that he was in a different position on the floor where he could be effective on the offensive end.

Also, even if he comes back- we're crowded up front with intangible players- Lee, Balkman. And then Frye who has an effective offensive game.

Where does he get minutes? And when?

The roster has to get balanced out- we need to find a way that we can take a Balkan & JJ2 and turn it into a Caron Butler type player- an upgrade in talent.

You can only put five players on the court at one time- and the best five will win games. Our best five aren't much better than the other players on the roster, and they're not better than other teams best five. Hence, our bench is good, better than other teams benches, but our starters aren't great.

I think the goal for the rest of the season, besides making the play offs, is to make sure Isiah can rehabilitate everyone's value so this summer, he could move someone like a JJ2 & Nate for a good player that upgrades the talent in the starting five.

Thats probably because he's hurt and is one back spasm away from retiring. He's probably just happy he's healthy enough to play.

turn it around? into what? he is doing exactly the same as he does every year. i don't know what everyone expects from him.
