The Portland Trail Blazers and Raptors have agreed in principle on a trade sending Juan Dixon to Toronto for Fred Jones in a swap of backup guards, ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher reported.

Dixon, 28, in his fifth NBA season, is averaging 8.9 points per game for the Blazers. Jones, also in his fifth year, is averaging 7.6 points.

never mind that - where's dj to tell us that dixon was the missing piece to the raptors championship chemistry while of coiurse reassuring us that they're still only his SECOND favorite team?

work is crazy.

they saved a year on salary and fred jones was playing the mardy role up north. toronto now has an extra $3.5 mil during the summer of 2008.

this gives them another shooter to spread the floor. fred jones wasn't a good enough one to hang with that offense.

Unbelievable what Calangelo is doing. Another solid pickup. Dixon will fit in perfectly with their scheme. They won't be able to double Bosh when you put a line-up of T.J., Bargnani, Mo Pete, and Dixon on the floor.

Dixon is a high charecter player. Cold as ice.

What the hell is Portland doing? Have they given up on Roy already?, lol. I just don't see what this trade does for them.

What the hell do I know? Maybe Jones comes to Portland and just goes wild.

Jones is from Portland and went to high school and college there. Fan favorite doesn't get in to trouble i.e. Portland sells a few more tickets and continues to move away from that jailblazers image. Now if they could only do something about D.Miles...
