I know I don't have to say anything after a loss like this...but I will.

If this team was working its ass off every single game but had really off nights where they lost to even the worst teams, it would be tolerable. But inconsistent effort from game to game and even quarter to quarter is totally inexcusable. That's not something that will improve as time goes by and it certainly won't improve when you have an idiot coach/GM who chooses to ignore it and just chalks it up to other teams/players being too good that night.

Isiah keeps saying after these losses that they just have to forget about it and move on. What kind of horse****e is that? Maybe if you addressed it and let the players know that it's unacceptable it wouldn't happen so goddamn often.

Woo hoo!! We have more wins than last year.

Big f***ing deal.

I remember when those awful old layden-chaney teams would bust their ass each nite but had a hard time on back to backs because we were banged up and old.

They either made playoffs or just missed.

For all we have been thru this Sh!t is plain awful!

All this talent, all the coaching we have had cannot bring spit out of our team!

must have been a long train ride back to NYC!

i was busy with work so i missed the game but am watching knicks in 60 right now.

what i don't understand is that a young team...a young team that has so much to prove to it's fanbase, can put up stinkers like this. is it that difficult for them to show effort night in and night out? it's one thing to miss jumpers, but to see players just stand and watch on defense is pretty bad. they aren't 50 year old guys like nalod said. these guys are <26.

this looks like the same inconsistent team i saw in december and january.

I think it really comes down to strong leadership. Steph is playing through pain and playing well for a guy playing in pain. ( I once said all I wanted from him was 17 and 9, defense, and being a floor general-and that is all I still want from him).

This team needs a flat out leader. I wouldn't take Vince because he isn't a leader, but I would look at a guy like Pierce(yea, a pipe dream, I know), maybe Jermaine(problem with him is he would hinder Lee's progress. My assumption is also that we will have to trade Frye to get the guys I am talking about), even KG(though I wouldn't overpay for him). I also only listed guys that may be available.

We really need a leader here. I am not saying that is the only piece we need, but it is probably the biggest.

Isn't that exactly why they are so inconsistent? Cause they are young?

Its frustrating to watch them beat Orlando straight up and not try after the 1st quarter in Philly. Really frustrating. This team needs a locker room leader. This team needs to start playing consistent basketball asap.

Being young is no excuse to not give 100% effort at all times.

Exactly.. we won 37 games (after going 1-7 to start without Sprewell) and we had Eisley, Ward, Houston, Spree, Shandon, Kurt, Othella and Spoon as our main 8 guys. My god it was boring, but we never had to worry about them playing hard each night

a 37W team is a 37W team... they're going to look good at times & at others they're going to look like crap like they did last night... what do you guys expect? yeah, this year's team has a lot more talent than that Layden team had, but they also have guys who are still learning how to play the game & others who are breaking down due to injury (Marbury, Q, Francis)

i hear all this talk about inconsistent play, did you guys expect this team to be a consistent winner? yeah, it's frustrating to see them play like they did last night, but you had to expect that coming into the season... i'm not saying that excuses things, but if you knew they'd be an inconsistent team this year, why does everyone act so surprised when they play that way?... on the same token, if they come back & string off 3 W's in a row, you can't get overly excited either... this team is going to be mediocre until they bring in some defensive minded players to put around their main guys.... we need more guys like Balkman... guys who will get in there & do the dirty work... we have enough guys who know how to score... Jared Jefferies?... the guy can't guard anyone... why was he brought here again? how does someone get 2 points & 5 fouls in 20 minutes? i never expected him to be this bad.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Now you see why Lb didn't want these immature players to celebrate too much.

Many called LB a kill joy, well there's no joy watching this team playng no D but getting hyped for a dunk and acting like the game is won with it. .

Toronto, Bulls, Jazz, Hornets are younger they aren't as inconsistent as the Knicks.
