The more I think about it... the Knicks may be in a position to really get younger, more athletic, and bigger with some bargaining chips. From the post... The Knicks own a throw-in trade piece that's "a hot commodity," as one league executive called it. In the Antonio McDyess trade, they obtained Denver's second-round pick. If the season ended today, it would be No. 31 overall, nearly a first-rounder without having to pay the three-year, $4-million guarantee.

Couple that with Thomas' reasonable contract and toughness. Charlie Wards expiring contract. A high first rounder this year... McDyess healing, and Vujanic coming over next year... we aren't in that bad a position (as I would have thought we'd be with our current cap situation). I hope we trade Kurt this year to take advantage of his high worth and net a young big man, a pick, and lose some games to get a better pick ... a shot at Darko, Lebron, or Carmelo.
