Getting Gasol sounds nice, however I dont think the Grizz give him up for an expiring contract and 2 2nd round picks.

The CLIPPERS want cap room & picks right ???, Well we send them WARD, POSTEL ( both have expiring contracts/buy out clause ) & a 2nd rd pick ( DENVERS which is really a #30 pick ) for KANDI. Then the next trade, SPREWELL, KURT THOMAS & OTHELLA HARRINGTON to the HAWKS for BIG DOG, JASON TERRY & ALLAN HENDERSON ( to make the deal work ). TERRY can play the PG with MILSO coming off the bench, HOUSTON at the SG, BIG DOG at the SF, MCDYESS at the PF & KANDI at the C. We have a bench of DOLEAC (1YR left on contract), HENDERSON (2yrs left on contract), ANDERSON (3YRS left on contract), EISLEY (3yrs left on contract) & our 2 draft picks this year !!! EVERYONE ELSE HAS BEEN ELIMINATED FROM THE ROSTER & WILL NOT BE RESIGNED !!!

K9- your not going to get Kandi (who is a free-agent who comes off the cap anyway) for Ward, Postell, and a 2. They could sign and trade him for much more (the East has no Centers).

My trade takes advantage of Kurt Thomas big trade value to get a center and backup power forward with upside. This actually works cap-wise!

KT, Othella, and F.Williams and #2 in 2005

for

L.Wright and Swift (and the rights to Wies)

We get Longer, more athletic, and in the off-season we use Charlie's expiring contract, Spree, and our Pick for trade-bait. We lose more games this year and get a nice front-court. Memphis gets tougher, a true four, and a point guard of the future.

I know this Allan Houston contract is a REAL PAIN. But if Layden can convince his buddies in Utah that Allan could be the missing piece to a strong playoff run for them (in Malone & Stockton's last hurrah) then maybe it can happen.

The deal would be as follows Allan Houston and Michael Doleac for
Andrei Kirelenko and Greg Ostertag. Other players may have to be involved to make the $ work.

Ostertag signed a bad contract which Utah would want to get rid of and in the east he can be effective - plus this guy needs a new start somewhere else. Even if he continues to be a stiff at least he can keep the spot warm for the Knick's first round pick.

As for Kirelenko, this is the guy the Knicks need: a young, tall, atheletic 3.
It's gonna be tough to get this guy but if Utah is serious about a long playoff run then maybe they will part with him.

Allan Houston is the perfect player for that team and city - great outside shooter to compliment Malone's post up skills and a nice guy with no baggage.

Doleac is a Utah guy who would be an adequate replacement for Ostertag.

By the way I would trade Howard Eisley for Mark Jackson straight up. No way Utah takes on Eisley's contract. But who better to mentor the Knicks two young point guards (Frankie & Milos) than Mark Jackson.
