Drew Gooden. On Cold Pizza, there were some Daily News guys on 1st and 10 and they were talking about Francis and Frye for Gooden and filler (Snow? exp deals in Pavlovic and Newble). I have a problem giving up Frye for him and apparently, the Cavs do not have a pick in the upcoming draft.

Any thoughts on this? Gooden would help but for Frye, its a bit much. Especially with no real young talent coming back (players with 3 or less years experience). I def would rid ourselves of the "Franchise" though.

I hate Gooden. Pavlovic is actually a pretty good player. He can shoot. Cavs have started using him lately and he's really come through for them.

Isiah is dumber than i thought if he helps cleveland get better, i do not do any deals with teams that have impending superstars entering free agency when we have cap room.....

Frye could have got us Odom, Boozer, Artest and possibly KG last year now we are looking at good, no thanks

I actually like Gooden in the sense that he can score, defend, rebound, and score. However, he is not a heady player. I think in terms of defense, he is better than Lee, but he is not so much better that I would give up Frye for him. I like that Frye and Lee can do different things and Gooden is not really a shot-blocker, which is what we really need in our PF.

I've always thought Gooden was a bad defender.

Isiah is delusional if he makes this move, thinking it will make us better...

I wanted this move at the start of the season, but if the Cavs have no pick this draft......... that makes it a tough deal to make. They got to take another bad contract if that is the case. Still probably wouldn't do it.

I do Francis for Drew Gooden and Snow strate up though.

Drew Gooden isn't even that good. He's not much better than Lee is and making this move would be pointless. We don't even get a draftpick out of the trade? Screw that. NO WAY.

not much better than lee? is that a bad thing?

yes he's not great. i'd prefer someone known as a defender, who maybe blocks more than a shot per game on his career. but he's been a good sidekick for lebron, he's 25, rebounds, is competent on offense, brings athleticism and is more of a veteran presence than frye or lee would be. i'd take him if the price is right. frye and malik for gooden? i'd think about it- a pick would be nice though.

who else can we get who's comparably young, does those other things we need and could be had for a reasonable price? i can't think of anyone off the top of my head- any thoughts? i'm not sure there's much out there better than gooden (i think artest is not gonna happen).

You got to ask why would the Cavs be so willing to part with Gooden, for a relatively unknown commodity in Frye.

i think i remember hearing that he doesn't have the greatest of work ethics when he was traded from the Grizz... it's not a guy i'd jump through hoops to get, but if you can get him for a good package, i wouldn't cry if they made the deal either.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Gooden studies martial arts. If I'm correct then that kills the work ethic arguement.

Gooden was traded from Memphis cuz they wanted him to be a small fwd and he wasn't comfortable in that role. He still was putting up double diget scoring numbers. They said he couldn't rebound then goes ahead and averages around 10 a game as a Cav.

He isn't emeka on defense. He is better than Frye though. He is quicker than frye as well. Gooden can actually do some moderate ball handling. His motor is great.

He is 12 and 9. More if given a shot. Knicks need him to hit the jumper which he can. Knicks need him to rebound and he does. Knicks need him to mix it up and move his feet on defense and he does that.

Pavlovic is a nice insurance policy for Q. Pav can do more that shoot. The mofo has some sneaky athletisism. He will try to bang it on you if he has the step. Lebron gives him props all the time. Pav has a desire to show and prove. If snow comes too that would be annoying but the guy can run a team and play defense. If marbs is hurt at least the knicks would have a proven guy that can lead and rally the troops.

Uhhh, who the **** is the filler gonna be?

Larry Hughes?

No thanks.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
