If they would rather be home or out partying instead of being professional and coming to games prepared to give the effort that it takes to win games, then maybe some of these players shouldn't be here at all.

The game before Thanksgiving against the T'Wolves - Loss 107-89

The game before Christmas against the Sixers - Loss 98-77

The game before New Years in LA against the Clippers - Loss 90-80

The game before the All Star break against the Warriors - Loss 120-101

Before each game Isiah gave some BS excuse about how he was worried about being flat. After each game Isiah gave some BS excuse about how his players might have looked past the game for one reason or another.

Then, for some unknown reason, Isiah said that the team had to forget about it and move on. Hey jackass, maybe if you didn't just give them a pass for not showing up and looking forward to family/party time they would actually have professional attitudes.

It's unfathomable the lack of accountability there is on this team (the only thing you're held accountable for in this organization is for what you say to the media) and it all falls on Isiah's shoulders.

That's a killer post. It's as if each time Isiah confesses he's assembled a disappointing crew of slackers.

And this year was supposed to be the year they all had so much motivation, so much to prove and so much at stake, and still they hardly care.

This is what I'm talking about Isles, I see signs of young party animals .

I can recall sam cassell interview in which he said while playing for the rockets as a rookie "Rudy T told us if we are gonna party like a rockstar, we better play like one the next day"

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

what would isiah the GM say if another one of his coaches said something like that?

would another coach say something like that? would a coach give them an excuse like that or would he blast them?

isiah has no GM to answer to above him. the only guy is dolan who seems to be on his side.

Most professional players aren't professional, if you want professional players go back to the 60's, 70's 80's and some of the 90's. Don't get me wrong there are professional guys who act like professional players in the league now but definitely not enough of them. Very few players put on their "hard hats" anymore. I don't like it but that's the way it is.

Good posts, you did research and backup up your post with solid evidence.

So they have the trend of slacking before holidays. The next game before the holiday someone in the coaching staff needs to bring that to there attention. Bringing up these games and this trend.

......AND we were also playing with 8 men after the brawl

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the Wariors was also the 2nd of a back-to-back.

all road losses, two of them tailies.

Sounds like another excuse to me. The trend is this: We get blown out against bad teams too often, and always when it's the final game before some sort of holiday/break. And, the most disturbing part of this trend: The coach accepts it and makes excuses for it.

The Minny (3-6 at the time) game was after a day off.

The Sixers (6-19) game was after a good win against Chicago.

The Clippers (13-16) game was after a day off.

The Warriors (24-29) game was after a good win against the Lakers.

Not that there's ever an excuse to not be prepared and to not give an honest effort.

Here's the thing:

On one side, those who defend Isiah and don't mind the excuses are basically saying that this team is so bad that we cannot be expected to compete against poor teams when we are on the road, or when we are tired.

On the other side, we have those who bash Isiah and say he is a moron for constantly making excuses for us getting blown out by bad teams.

Bottom line: One side believes we are really bad, and the other believes Isiah is a huge moron.

Conclusion: Either way, it's on Isiah. Because he either is still dealing with a really bad team in Year 4 of his 19-year plan, or he is a huge moron (or both).

With any equation involving the Knicks, the constant is always "Isiah is a huge moron".

Really dumb responses. Any team is going to lose their share of games. Especially road games. Even good teams lose games to teams they thought they would beat. ESPECIALLY coming off a big win the tendency in the entire NBA is to let down a little.

To cherry pick 4 ROAD games as this thread starter did and completely leaving out that these games were on the road, and in one of them we were playing our FOURTH game in five nights (moron) was poor reporting.

What is this great emphasis on excusing road blow-outs? Did you notice the margins of defeat in each of those games? 18, 21, 10, & 19 point losses.

Is it asking too much to expect a team to come to play on the road, or do you just expect all road games to be throw-aways?

Sounds like we should expect to lose ALL our road games, and then go, say, .500 at home, for a "satisfactory" 20-21 win season... lest we be cherry picking.

If you're going to cherry pick the bad losses, then QTHD when we celebrate the victories against the good teams. Be fair.

Here are our blowout victories, most against good teams or on the road or both:

Beat Washington 102 - 82
Beat Miami @ Miami 100 - 76
Beat Boston @ Boston 101 - 77

Did anyone make any posts about how PROFESSIONAL we were?

I aint done.

Beat Chicago 103 - 92
Beat Detroit 151 - 145 (droppin a benji and a half on motown on the day after Chirstmas for you holiday observer haters)
Beat Portland @ Portland 99 - 81
Beat Seattle @ Seattle 111 - 93
Beat Miami 116 - 96
Beat Clippers 102 - 90 (we got payback)

In fact we won 4 out of 5 around Chritsmas, but this thread starter cherry picked the one loss because it fell into his formula about how unprofessional we are. Yeah. an 8 man squad really should have won all five in a row.
