Right now at this point. I think that if Isiah was fired, the players would not respect another coach. Unless its a coach that demands it like Phil Jackson & Riley. And the players have a couple yrs left at big money. The coach would be screwd.

So if they were planning on getting rid of Isiah, which I doubt they are anyway. The best time to do it would be in 09 when Marbury & Francis are in there walking yrs, or the yr after.

We should bring in another GM though. Who is available??

Who cares, most of these players need to go too.

That's been the story of the Marbury era in a nutshell, but one wonders how different it might be if the coach were not additionally being undermined from above.

BTW, if Isiah can't respect the coaches beneath him, that he himself hires, I see no reason to think he'd respect any GM above him, short of a Donny Walsh or perhaps West. He'd be as coach what Marbury is as player: needy, disgruntled, attention whoring, etc. So unless one enjoys the drama and blame game, if you want Isiah in any position of power it's probably best keep him in his present position as emperor.
