According to the NY Daily News the Knicks do have some potential trade interest. Should the Knicks deal for Drew Gooden, Ruben Patterson, or Ron Artest? I consider them all upgrades from what we have now at the Forward position

I'd have to think about Frye for Gooden, actually. Gooden is a much better defender and rebounder. He'd be a solid compliment to Curry.

I'd love Artest, but I don't think he could ever work in NY and I don't think Zeke would try that again.

Gooden is inconsistant, Patterson has issues that Zeke doesn't want to deal with. Artest will want the offense running thru him which is something he's already expressed in Sac-Town, that ain't happening here.

Only way I go for a Frye/Gooden trase would be a package of Frye, JJ1 for Gooden, filler and future 1st rounder that is unprotected.

Gooden is what frye should be at this stage. Thing is what makes gooden what he is is that he has an edge to him. He is also a lot quicker than frye. Gooden doesn't have fryes touch but gooden can stroke it. Gooden also has the moves that are missing from fryes game.

Cleveland on the other hand needs to think about their near future. They wanna stay compeditive but they have some old bones on that team and need to look ahead. Frye is that guy that could sucseed big Z and fill goodens spot.

Knicks need pavlovic in this trade too.

So frye and who else can get it done?

If Isiah seriously trades for Drew Gooden or Ruben Patterson, I will be one VERY pissed of person. Getting both of those guys are lateral moves. We don't need lateral moves.

If there was one reasonably attainable guy I would love to acquire it would be Mike Miller.

Patterson isn't a star, but he can make an impact... he would bring some much needed toughness & defensive mindset to this team... the bad thing though is that he'd eat into any playing time that Balkman would otherwise get, so if we're going to trade for him, then Jefferies needs to go.

Gooden sucks. I'd rather hold Frye and hope he develops.

Patterson is also a registered sex offender. Not that it means much on the court, but I thought there were some places(NY being one of them), that could make it harder for Patterson to do his job due to what is required of sex offenders in some states.

I know I heard this before Patterson was traded the first time.

I'm not sure if it applies to NY, but it is an issue-off the court-that Isiah better look at.

Gooden would duplicate Lee, so why do we need him. I would rather have Frye and hope that Lee's defense improves to Gooden's level. PAtterson is an upgrade over JEffries but when is he going to play when we have Q at the SF spot. Basically any trade that does not send out JJ1, JJ2, or Rose, is a trade that is likely not going to benefit the team because we really need to consolidate our talent.

Please don't bring the Nanny Stopper here. I'd rather have Ron Artest and his insanity than the Nanny Stopper.

I've never liked Gooden at all. I hate that his name always comes up in trade rumors with the Knicks.

Patterson is in the midst of a career year. High FG%, good rebounding, gets a few steals, great D. He's a player that would certainly help. A character risk yes, but I don't know how much of a locker room risk he is.

The only two I would like here are Artest (but I have questions about not having a guy that can sort of temper his act, or at the very least a strong leader) and Patterson.

I can't stand Drew Gooden. I'll take him if we are unloading guys like JJ, Malik, maybe JJ2...

how do you mean? what's wrong with lateral moves? i see the gooden move as one that can balance our frontcourt a bit- gooden's not a great defender, but he can complement eddy better than channing can IMO.
