Even the most jaded of Knicks fans must admit that the emergence of Curry (despite his shortcomings on D) and the strides Steph has exceeded what most people's expectations were.

Isiah seems to be doing a really great job as far as motivating this team and getting a good effort out of them.

He seems to be pretty good at drafting. IMHO taking Marcus Williams and then Balkman would have been the smart play but who knows..maybe those rumours of Phoenix wanting Balkman were true. Jared Jeffries and Jerome James. ugh.

Here's what I see as the dilemma:

If Jimmy D decideds to keep Isiah on, do we really want him making decisions involving free agent signings, managing the salary cap etc?

Since Zeke didn't want to coach in the first place is there any situation where Zeke would coach and have an input on the draft but we could have someone a little bit more savvier in charge of free agent signings, trades, and scouting international players?

I see this as the ideal situation for management. Your thoughts?

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

I see Isiah taking the President JOB and just being a face with input in the near future.....Maybe after next season.

Are you really happy with his drafting, David Lee is a stud and was the best find in last years draft but overall i would say he made some good, not great selection.....

Frye at the 7 (Granger, Bynum, Green, and Warrick, even May look like they are better players)

Nate (Luther Head, Jarret Jack maybe? Ellis, Maxiel)

Lee (homerun)

This year I thought we had a pretty ****ty draft in all honesty

Balkman (Williams, Lowry, Johnson)

Collins (Gibson, Smith, Milsap)

Drafting isn't an exact science but Isiah usually takes the most athletic person left in the draft and athletes excel in the league, but out of the five picks I am not sure who is an impact player other than Lee, Frye looks like a backup and Nate has a role not sure if its on this team though........

He has done one thing very well, keep the players motivated and they have a nice sense of unity, and they are playing hard, not smart, but hard and competing which is nice.....

But the fact that we have to talk about Strides of our supposed franchise player and someone we are paying 20 million a year is a little silly....

If Curry ever wakes up and decides if he tries he would be the most dominate force in the NBA with a little work in the gym in the offseason and using his head a little more than Isiah would look like a genius, i just never see eddy being that motivated consisently.........

I.E.
Making light of the fact that the knicks were the best rebounding team in the league therefor his rebounding wans't such a big deal
or
Declaring he wants to be traded when he has accomplished zero in his career and acting like he has the knicks in contention for the ultimate prize....

Valid points MS.

So for the long term future of this franchise what do you feel is the best option

a) Isiah gone completely. Pray the whoever replaces him doesn't have his head up his arse
b) Isiah staying on in some capacity
c) Isiah as judge, jury, and executioner

First, regarding drafting, NO gm hits home runs at every at bat. No gm comes close to that. What you have to look at is how his average compares to other gm's and Isaiah's is very good.

Secondly, regarding trades, before the start of the season, most of us (myself included) thought the Curry trade was his worst. No we know that he saw something in Curry that everyone else missed. So maybe it's a good idea that he makes the trades for this team.

HOw the hell are Granger, Bynum, Green, Warrick, and May better players then Frye??? Youcan say you would think Bynum or Green could be better down the road, but how are they better right now??? ANd How is Frye tha "most athletic" of this bunch??

Why are bench players on other teams better who do have open spots on thier teams better then bench players on the knicks who have to compete/perform to play???? LOL

Frye, Nate, and Lee was a solid draft for us. Anyone in hindsight can say we should have gotten this other player, but I think we made out fairly well in that draft. I don't think anyone can question IT's draft record. He never had a high pick (other than #7 last year with Frye), but IT has still done an solid job of getting players that will have an impact on this team in the future. Really his biggest weakness is the FA signings. Once he learns that you don't sign B- players to $30 million contracts when you can get a C+ player for $3 million, he will be on his way to being a good GM.

More like C+ players for 3 million and signing C- players for 30 million. Ariza, Balkman>>> Jared. Center in Dallas >>> James

Are you kidding ask every gm in the league who they would rather have

Bynum or Granger or Channing Frye......

Granger is big strong and a good outside shooter he can actually play defense something frye can not do, Frye doesn;t do one thing better than granger. Channing plays soft and small. And Bynum is the youngest player in the NBA and already possesses every talent you want in a big man, soft hands, good rebounding and shot blocking abilitys and is a savy passer. He has post moves and is learning he is barely 19 years old......

I don't think any of the players I mentioned were a stretch you would rather have Nate over Luther Head? Balkman over Marcus Williams or Lowry?
And if your in question about the others like Green, Warrick and May thats understandable but Channing doesn't have versatility to his game, and is a horrible rebounder, i don't think he has grabbed 10 rebounds all year......

And I said late in the draft he grabs the most athletic player 9 times out of 10
