I was thinking about how to compare this team to successful teams and the way it looks, A Kobe, A Carmello, A LeBron alone is not going to do it. You need at least 4 all-star type players in this league today, just to compete. The closest we have to any all-stars on this team is Lee. I"d pick Curry and Crawford also, but for the fact that Curry has no D and Crawford, you never know when he's going to show up. Lee is at least consisten and isn't exactly weak on the defense either. He's no defensive stopper, but he's decent.

The point is, we don't really have any SOLID players on this team, and that reflects our current record. Much better than last season so far, but no playoffs at this point. What we have are a bunch of young guys, rooks who are still finding they're game. Crawford and Q are more veteran than new in the league anymore, but they have struggled with game from time to time also. Let's face it. We are not ready yet and it's obvious that we aren't making any moves, at least big ones for a few more years.

So with that said, we will have to work with what we have, hope for a decent record and see what can come out of the rookies. We have a team that can win more games with a true all-star, but we need to great position players to compete with the big boys. I just wanted to point out the reality of qaulity we have on this team. Not exactly one of the toughest, but not exactly the weakest either. I am merely stating the state of our present situation right now, so don't look for something big right now. We only have good possibilites right now, but no one's really solid on this team, at least not yet. I think it would have come out by now, if we did. I still believe this is how a great future team starts out though, and I still believe we are on the right course for the near future. If IT continues on this course, and we just wait and give this team time, we will see what we have by next season. I think it's a bad thing to do, to just go and make a bunch of changes. We have had too many changes already, and it reflects the fact that we have not been able to develop something good out of all of this. I know it's a boring ass thing to have to do, but it's our reality right now. I think we need to stick to this course for awhile and just try to enjoy what we witness. Yes' enjoy what the players bring to the game for now.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think we have solid players in QRich, Lee, Jamal, Nate, Frye, Balkman, even Jefferies.

the problem is that the two "all-stars" we are built around, Marbury and Curry, are flawed. Marbury has had moments where he's played like a geniune all-star, but is aging and inconsistent and surly and thinks he's better than he is. Curry is coming into his own, but has problems on defense.

I think we can build around Curry, but need a legit perimeter all-star in his prime to compliment Curry. Personally, I'd love to install Craw as the PG and get an all-star caliber SG.

Don't know how that's possible, but I think that's what we need.

Please... no one post Ray Allen for Marbury trades. That's not what I'm talking about.

^^ flawed indeed. Curry is the monster in the post, but Marbury cant make a post pass. Ouch.

If Eddy would just rebound he would be there. There's no excuse for him not averaging 11-12 a night in his 35 minutes. The guy is an unreal athlete. He's among the biggest and quickest in the NBA. He's camped out in the paint. I can forgo the defense... fine, ooolay! Just clean the glass, score your 20 and we have something. The guy's effort kills me on a nightly basis.

Knicks do lead the league in rebounding. I'd rather he played a little more D.

but to my mind guard play has killed us this season. we could live with Curry's TOs if the guards were making better decisions.

when u have D Lee & Q Rich grabbing 11 & 7 respectively a night playing next to you, it's not that big of a deal that Curry's only giving you 7 a night... what he needs to continue working on is his foul shooting, & cutting down on TO's... that alone would account for 4-8 pts a night easy for the Knicks.

What about his defense?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
