Giants released LB LaVar Arrington, T Luke Petitgout, and LB Carlos Emmons. Arrington, 29 in July, will get another shot, but won't be guaranteed much money, as he can't stay healthy and is coming off an injury that can linger though multiple seasons. The Giants will make over their linebacker corps like they tried to do in their secondary last year. They'll have to find a replacement for Petitgout in the first two rounds or free agency, unless they think he'll come back at a reduced rate, which is possible. Feb. 12 - 5:34 pm et
All I can say is THANK GOD. I was so sick of watching Petigout get false start and holding calls game after game after game. Good riddance Luke. We'll draft a nice LT in the draft hopefully and sign a stopgap for the draftpick to contend with.
I hope that Arrington is brought back for reduced money, but I doubt that happens. In that game where Arrington got hurt against Dallas, he really began playing pretty well and he would have added a new dynamic to the Giants defense. I doubt he's back though. Emmons - who cares. He was constantly injured and he's an EAGLE.
