If you guys watched this game it proved one thing and that is the Knicks need a superstar in the mold of a T-Mac, Kobe, AI and maybe Pierce. Thats right the Knicks are missing a quality superstar. I think if this game proved anything to me it is that the Knicks need to get LeBron in the worst way. They better start tanking if they know what is good for them. Spree was great but a good player can only do so much against a superstars. Houston what happened to him I caught the game on TNT and Ainge said something about Houston not wanting to play in the game. He injured his wrist. Thomas is no center he was abused all game long by Shaq so much for Thomas playing center he isn't one and the NYK fans are only fooling themselves if they think he is. Do you guys realize that Ewing was the last great superstar Knicks have known. Going into a game with a superstar on ones side allows others to walk with their heads up. Gives the fans hope that they are going to win games. I think a lot of people on this board and others underestimate the value of a legitimate superstar. Superstars can dominate games for streches of 15-20 games at a time. Just look at Kobe he has put up mind boggling numbers over the last month. T-mac put up 9 straight games of 30+ points. The Knicks don't have anyone that can just take the team and carry them to victories. Houston and Spree are good players but they are far from being superstars.

Saying Ewing was the last superstar isn't that bad, he played for them only a few years ago. But I see where your coming from. Thats why I wish the Knicks would lose lose lose and have Dolan throw some cash Stern's way to get LeBron. Obviously I'm not serious, but I really wish this team lost the rest of their games and got LeBron or Carmelo, both will be superstars.

My sentiments exactly. You dont win a championship without a superstar and we dont have one.

But you don't "tank" games. Ever. If you do, you belong in jail. It's fraud. People pay for tickets, and they deserve the best product the team can put on the floor. I don't care who you get in the draft, it's not worth it to throw games. The fact that the Knicks have a shot at a playoff spot, however remote, means they have to play hard. When they are statistically out of the playoff hunt, then it really doesn't matter what they do.

The lottery won't solve the Knicks' problems. It would be great to get a superstar, but T-Mac hasn't exactly made Orlando a great team. He's given them excitement again, but that team is a long way off from championship calibur.

Say you get a young superstar on the rise, but he doesn't gel with his teammates, and that means in play not socially, and then you have the T-Wolves, a mediocre team with one of the best players in the game.

Yes, Knicks need more high-performance players, but not at the price of losing their current chemistry. Layden has to be careful not to move the wrong pieces out of town. I'd argue that we'd be happy to have a team like Indiana's, but they have no superstar - Reggie being at the end of his career.

It's not as simple as "getting Lebron".
