Lakers And Cavaliers Interested In Kidd?

New York Post -
A couple weeks ago, Peter Vecsey reported that the Lakers had offered a couple first-round draft picks and several expiring contracts for Jason Kidd. Chris Mihm, Aaron McKie, etc., and Jordan Farmar were mentioned.

Talks stopped briefly, but the Nets are considering the deal, according to the source.

The Cavaliers, also on the market for a point guard, reportedly called the Nets expressing their fondness for Kidd.

"I don't look for that to happen," said someone in the know. "Given the choice between playing in Cleveland with LeBron or in Los Angeles with Kobe, I suspect we know which way Kidd would lean. You definitely don't want an unhappy impact player." [READ]

makes sense. Kidd is 34, Nets aren't going anywhere meaningful. If they could get Farmar, Kwame and a pick or two it would be a decent trade for such an old dude. I'm not sure why the Lakers would do it, exactly, unless they're completely down on Kwame. This trade won't take them up to the level of Dallas, Phoenix or San Antonio.

I think Kidd and Kobe would be a match for any team. Bynum is playing decent and they have Odom at the PF spot. That trade would make them an instant contender.

or they also realize that Kidd is 34 and peaking in terms of trade value. Probably both. May be the last chance to trade VC too with his opt out after this year.

Knicks lose out on the NJ clearance if it even happens.

Why?

Cuz of the buyouts to jalen and Taylor! What the hell was dolan, isiah, or whoever thinking about when they did that?

You want to add payroll?? I don't care who we get, adding another big contract would be a nightmare.
