Listen I could just prove that we don't have a franchise player.......but I won't. Caz it's well known. Marbury isn't (never was). Crawford isn't. Curry isn't (and won't be) And of course, the only thing that'll get you into the post season without a franchise player is awesome defense..........and well, that's just not happening. I mean hey I wouldn't mind great defense/no franchise, but its not in the cards. So what do we do? Well we have an owner who runs the show like a corporation, so firing Isiah and trading Curry is out of the question. Now that we've established Isiah and Curry are P-R-E-T-T-Y much staying, the next step is to pick a style of ball: Fast.... or Slow. Ya, I'm gonna go with slow, unfortunately despite the fact most of our team would be good in uptempo. In that case keepers? QRich Marbury Curry Lee (most likely) James Frye Goners? Crawford Nate Why Crawford, huh. Big 52 right. No, wrong. If Curry is your 1 or 2 option, then your going slowball (essentially), therefore less possessions, meaning you need efficient shooting, not streaky jack-em-up stuff. Crawford would be great in Pheonix or Denver where he could just rain free, but that won't work here unfortunately, so he needs out. Atleast IMO. Question is --- what should we be looking for in return? AllStar player NOW? Or through Free Agen. later? Your call..... 'Less of course you'd rather just keep J-Clutch.

I choose the first option, but I think Curry will be a franchise player, which imo, isn't different than an iconic player, which he won't be.

The right thing to do IMO is to tear it apart, get as many draft picks, young two-way players, and expiring contracts as possible for what we have now and rebuild and around solid, young, versatile 2-way players. Since that won't happen and the only option is to keep re-tooling the roster, I'd say keep Crawford. I don't think you'll get something better than him in return.

YOu know Curry isn't getting traded. Lee is not getting traded. Crawford is not getting traded. Marbury is not getting traded..................everybody else is up for grabs.

Can you work from there and do one of these team things with: Curry, Lee, Crawford????
I think Im going to do one for you:
2007 off-season

Francis=TRaded for Jason williams, Antoine Walker & 2007 Miami 1st round pick

Q-Bert=Traded for Kwame Brown

Frye, Collins, Rose, Jerome James for Raef LaFrentz, Darius Miles & Blazers 1st rounder 07 (top 3 protected)
*They don't want to make another pick for and get another 1/2/3 when there team is stacked with picks. They want to dump salary and move some of the older players like Miles, Raef, Randloph and Maglorie*

Curry/Kwame(expiring)/Blazers pick
Lee/Raef(2years off YOM)/Walker(2years option off YOM)
Miles(3years expiringYOM)/JJ2/Balkman
JC/Nate/Bulls pick
Marbury/Williams(expiring)/Heat pick

YOM=Final Year of Marbury

We cannot get cap relief by trading Jamal but if we could, thats what I would shoot for.

Looks like Curry is the cornerstone of this franchise but guess what. I don't see him winning us a championship in NY..

Curry will be one of those top 5 centers in the NBA, going ot the playoffs from time to time but no rings..

Only way to win a championship is to obtain one through the draft..

I'm not saying Curry is Shaq, but Shaq needed Kobe and Wade to win. Curry is no different.

90 percent of theFrachise players in the league are guys that "aren't winning champonships by themselves". We had Ewing and no title, I don't see the knock. We should move with what we have and try to build it up, because the likely hood is, if we get this one magical title player............ were going to need another one any way!!!!!!!

Ewing played in the Jordan era. Jordan had Pippen. Ewing had no one. If Scotty Stirling hadn't trade the pick that became Pippen for Jawann Oldman, Ewing likely would have won at least one.

All you can ask of your team is that they put themselves in a position to win a ring over a five to seven year period.

Curry and Lee are a good place to start, but without high draft picks and/or cap room, adding another big piece will be difficult. Whether or not one can be found will likely determine the chance this team has at winning a ring.

That's pretty much what I said. I would rather find another player we think is Franchise or close then trying to find two. It's easy to say that Ewing wins one if Jordan didn't have Pippen, you don't know if Jordon finds another player and you don't know who pippens get's paired up with, only thing you do know is Ewing alone was not enough so I don't think titles won would change.

We'd need to trade about 8 players to get cap relief, so that's not happening.

With this upcoming draft, if you could trade Craw for a first rounder that would be good, but nobody is going to drade out of this draft.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

looking back at last nights game, I think it was actually Craw's best overall perfomance until the last 10 minutes when he was unbelievably trying to feed a quadruple teamed Curry.

very easy poll to answer.

if you could really use him as trade bait for a legitimate all-star do it immediately.

Trade Crawford. I can't be watching my starting 2 guard get beat backdoor with a minute to go in the game. It's just unacceptable.

The problem is that both Marbs and Crawford take over games once every 8 quarters that they play. When one or the other is on for the entire 2nd half we will win games. When neither one is playing at a high level in the 4th, we're going to lose. We have to have one of them be a constant in order to get to the next level.
