I think we waited 30 seconds too long to start playing defense in the second half against the Lakers-

I live in LA now, so imagine what I have to endure when we're being blown out by 30 points...AAAAGH!

Heh, just tell those damn Laker fans that a) Houston would have sealed the deal, and b) as a Knick fan, you're jealous of that Uptempo Collapse the Lakers busted out. I mean, it put ours to shame, taking half the time we do to lose a 30 point lead.
go knicks!

Indeed, Fmoran, Indeed.

What also irks me about leftcoasters (I've been bi-coastal for a while now) is their fair-weatherness - Even when we hate the Knicks, we still love the Knicks...During the 90's when Michael ruled the NBA, there were nothing but JORDAN jerseys in LA, and nobody even bothered trying to figure out how to turn Sedale, Peeler and Elden into a contender...they just pretended that they didn't follow basketball...But then they had to endure the world series and sweat the Yanks....

Anyway, the Lakers and the Laker fans make me ill...Can't wait to get some big men and challenge them...I magine if we kept the fire we had in the 4th quarter, with Houston, Dice, Milos, and a draft pick added....

I just want to know what game you guys were watching that gives you so much hope. The knicks only made a comeback because the Lakers were bored with them. They pulled Shaq and Kobe and when it became close they put them back in and you knew there that the game was back in their hand. Let me tell you guys something about comebacks its only good if you win the game.

True dat, Vmart...

But my point was mostly about fandom. We of the orange and blue are fans. We hate to see the team lose (even if it gets us closer to a draft pick) but we don't suddenly give up our Knick fan status because of the loss! Laker fans have, and will, once the cycle of winning dips back down into lotteryhood. No respect for those kind of fans.

Once again, The Knicks are severely undermanned even WITH Houston on the floor, not even taking Dice into account, or the lack of center - I'm stressing what we CAN be, not necessarily what we are currently - that's what a fan does, imho...

It's all to easy to jump on the jock of the current NBA champ. Any sheep can do that !

A real fan stays loyal, and carefully plots the return to greatness.

Are you listening, Scotty?

And another thing...This game proved that we need a CENTER in the worst way. Houston's contract is going nowhere. With a real 7-footer, We could have stopped some of those easy layups. Regardless of the beauty of Kobe's drives to the hoop, if there was a real defensive center in there, he'd be relying on the jumper - and I can live with that.

I didn't sign Allan for 100 mil. Blame Scott.

I agree with you I hate the Lakers with a passion, But it make me envious of them man they just won three straight championships and we got 2 in the 70's past my time and none since then. Thats over 30 years without a championship. I can't lie to you I did want the Knicks to win and felt that they had a chance towards the end but I also knew that the Laker superstars were out of the game when they made most of their run. I don't want the Knicks to be like the Boston redsoxs or the Chicago Cubs and Whitesoxs. I can't wait that long for a championship.

I don't think we'll have to wait forever - but Layden's decisions in the past few years have to be lived through. We have been in the finals, however in 94, 99 - so Life hasn't been THAT bad for NY'ers...we could be Atlanta or Cleveland...

Things are going to get better fast, I think...We'll make some noise through 2005, then, when these contracts are all done, we'll start from scratch or something-

Being a fan means you will still be a fan even if you die never seeing them win a championship. I laugh at the Dead Sox, but I respect their fans and Cubs fans because they stand by their team, pay for tickets, cheer them on, all that. Lakers fans don't even show up until the second half. LA, not just the team, but the whole city, SUXXXXXX! At least Chicago Town has character, if not the diversity and excitement of New York City. LA is devoid of life. It hath no soul.

Remember, one team wins, 28 others lose. I know you want them to win, as I do, but you should not expect them to win, just to compete hard. That way, if they do win it all, it makes it all the better.

Right now, I'm proud of the Knicks for showing more heart this year then last year. I'd rather have a scrappy bunch of losers over that fat idiot Shaq any day. I love that the fans took Yao over him in voting.
