Sure. We'd have to take a minor salary. NJ might be interested. They're desperate for big men.

Don't trade big for small. Point Guards are a dime a dozen...........

Toronto did it with Charlie Villanueva for TJ Ford. Everybody, Briggs included, said it was a bad trade, but it's been a great trade for them. I think it's fine as long as it's the right PG. Marcus is going to be good.

Seriously, he'd be admitting 2 huge mistakes.

Why would the Nets want to help us? And vice versa?

Still wouldn't do it. Point guards are cheat. Unless you are getting Felton or Paul or Deron, one of the great youngins, I wouldn't. I wouldn't do the CV trade as you see the Euro Kidd is just as good as ford......... and all they had to do was sign him!!!!!!!!!

I know Briggs thinks this guy is as good as them, but he looks like an Andre Miller clone to me........... Miller clones aren't worth Frye.

if PGs are so cheap, then why after drafting 2 and paying 3 a combined $40mm this year do we STILL need a PG?

It's fair. It's not admitting anything other than we need a third guard and a guy who can replace marbury at some point. this team *as is* doesn't have enough of *it*. We'd also be flipping well up from the chicago pick to the NJ net pick. The nets just dopnt have anyone upfront and this gives chaning a great opportunity and I think the combination of moving up into the draft and acquiring M<arcus is a nice proactive deal.

^LOL I would do this trade but I get this feeling that Marcus would be looked upon as the savior of the franchise, upon all fans and everyone on this board. It just seems to be the way things work out here, nowadays.

we need a Lindsey Hunter or Brevin Knight more than we do a Marcus Williams IMO... a role playing backup PG who plays good perimeter defense & can hit a big shot when he's left open... that's the type of G we need to target at this point... i'd rather deal Channing to get someone like Chris Duhon if i had to trade big for small.

IMO i say we save Channing for a deal to get ourselves a shotblocker, because he's 1 of the few assets we have to make a deal with & fill a need... PG is not an essential need at this point... Marbury's been playing pretty well of late... we can address the PG need when his contract becomes expiring 2 years from now.

Isn't Marcus Williams a locker room cancer?

The last thing we need is more trouble in the locker room.

I don't think Marcus is any locker room cancer. The guy has a bad rep because he was stealing laptops at UConn, it was stupid. I don't believe there has ever been anything said badly against him about his chemistry with teammates though.

One of the Net fans told me Vince and Marcus went at it about some last minute shot Marcus took. I couldn't find it in newspapers though.

I'm sure theres instances like that with every player, he's a young player learning the pro game. I don't think theres ever been a report about his teammates not liking him or that he doesn't fit in.

I don't think drafting Frye was a mistake, he'd look much better if Eddy wasn't here, but when Eddy came on the market so suddenly it made Frye not such a good fit on the team. Frye was a good pick, but there would have been guys who fit better if we knew Curry was on the way. Granger would've been the best. Warrick, too, maybe. I wanted one of Frye, Granger or Warrick so I can't say I disagree with taking Frye.

It would be admitting the Marcus Williams mistake though, obv.

I don't think he'll trade Frye unless it's for a young veteran of some sort.
