Heat are starting to play well and there is probably no shot that we catch them. They should be able to pull out another win tonight as the Celtics are playing horribly and haven't won a game in a long time.

Orlando and NJ seem to be our two main competitors for that last spot.

Raptors have been on fire. Their PG play has been very solid. Calderon has been one of the best backups and they really made out on the Ford/Charlie deal.

Yeah, I think Toronto is going to keep on rolling the rest of the year. Orlando though is due for a slide and New Jersey without Jefferson is not as tough. The last week of the season we play Toronto once and New Jersey twice. If we can beat NJ both times, we should have a good shot at the playoffs, assuming Orlando slides also.

^ Yup, sooner or later Miami is going to be out of our reach courtesy of Shaq's yearly 10 game win streak. As the playoffs near, his teams always get their mindset right and get ready for a title push. IMO Miami will finish 6th, maybe 7th after 82 games. You're right, its between us, Orlando, and the swamp boys.

I give up on following the other teams competing for that last spot. It means nothing if we don't win.
Just keep fighting for the W's and let the rest of the league take care of itself.

I agree from a player perspective. I'm more concerned with our record. If we win games and earn a spot that will do wonders for the young guys. If we win games and lose a playoff spot it will do wonders for the young guys. The best thing to do right now is win games.

From a fan perspective it's nice to actually care about what other teams do instead of knowing your season is done in October.
I just hope that people will like me

i'm all about the player development of our young guys... winning games would do them wonders like you said Bip, but even if the W's don't come, i'm fine as long as i see continued improvement in the young guys.

FRIDAY:

San Antonio @ Orlando (REALLY good for us)
LA Lakers @ Toronto (also REALLY good for us)
New Jersey @ Boston (damn)
Miami @ Cleveland (just put here for kicks)

But, of course, we have to beat Utah to get the help.

I agree with TMS. about forgetting the record or a playoff run. I think what's important is we continue to grow as a team and play consistent basketball.

The way things look so far and knowing we're half way into the season, you figure this group will heavily improve next yr and might be a top 4 in the eastern confernece depending on our #1 option Curry and his overall play.

Even if we finish .500 ball from here on end, we would still fall short .500 ball for the rest of the season.. Right now, we're looking at 34 to 38 wins for the year.

Gotta give the new GM credit for making Toronto an exciting winning ballclub again.
