I believe these are Sprees final days in NY. It seems the Knicks have a deal in place already but are waiting it out to see if they can fetch a better deal. The Knicks may be talking to the lakers who want to trade him for some exiring and a 1 year contract player. I think Dolan is forced to cut payroll because if he was going to 3 way a trade with ATL Memphis who want to swap legit players for expiring contracts and picks he wouldnt wait till the last second. Jerry West has put all his players on the block to find a way to generate cap room next season. I dont think the Knicks can get what they put out. We cant get equal value for Spree.

I also have a bad feeling about Spree in the next few weeks. But, as big of a fan as I am of the guy, maybe it's for the best. He can return to the SG position, and (hopefully) be on a better team. We can lower the payroll and try and get some young, cheap players and/or draft picks.

But like you said, I hope we don't rip ourselves off out of the desperation to trade him. The current Knicks would not benefit from addition by subtraction, because honestly, Spree is the most balanced player on our squad. Even when he's not scoring, he's helping the team. We had better get a player or a collection of players that can bring something to this sqaud, whether now or in the near future.

My only regret is not having seen Houston, Spree, and Dice play together. It could have been special. But no matter where he goes, Spree will always be one of my favorite players in the game.

wow you guys are talking like the guy is dying. we all need to remember that scott layden is at the controls and that nothinig is going to happen at trade day. i think spree is here for at least one more year. if anybody gets traded it might just be kurt thomas. i just think layden will not force any bad trades anymore like spree for cap room( maybe spree for draft picks). spree is safe its kurt thomas i worry about.

Lakers needed to get Keon Clark this summer but didnt. With Keon at C, Shaq could play PF on occaision which is scary if you are and opponet.

I have a gut feeling Latrell Sprewell is gone too. It's going to be really sad to see him go but life goes on. I just hope we get something good in return. I don't want to see another guard coming here. I'm hoping for a young enough and bigger SF. I know for a fact we will not get a good Center or PF for Spree. The best could do is Dale Davis and that would be a suicide trade.

Thinking of the trade rumors over the last few months, I think our best trade would be to acquire Jalen Rose.

Falcindor, please explain. Jalen Rose in my opinion has the perfect game to mesh with Allan Houston. That's a big reason why I would make that trade.

I don't know what you're watching. Jalen Rose was at his best with Reggie Miller, who is similar to Allan Houston. I think they would fit in great together.

It's nights like this that make me love Sprewell even more in a Knick uni. He better be staying put. And this "blockbuster" trade Layden keeps babbling about better be something like KT for NVE

Just imagine a young center, Dice, Spree, Houston, and Nick running the point. It'd be like the Knicks with some primo Denver peppered in. Wow, I'm really liking this now. Sure we'd lose BIG time inside presence for this season, but with a healthy Dice and a sloid draft pick, the payoff could be huge.

Too bad we'll end up trading Spree for Derek Coleman. That sounds more like Layden

Hey,i dont think Spree goin anywhere .Plus Dice addressed to Layden that he wants to play along side wit Spree.C'mon now Spree is the best player on the team and why trade him when things about to tragically change soon.Look,Thomas doesn't attract being double teamed inside and Dice does occasionally.Which would mean more slashing and better open shot selections.Now,this subject should be named Thomas Final Days.Van Excellent is on my list.WHOA them open shots is lookin sweeter for the Knicks.Dallas needs Thomas badly they to soft.But i remember Layden, so he's gonna screw it up.Well,i hope something like this to happen if Spree does go.Spree for Odom and Rooks and cash or pick.Then Thomas and Ward throw in (Knight or Harrington) for (Van Excellent and Bradley),Big Z,Dampier,Cambell.
