I get a kick out of people who say things like it's a popularity contest and it's about the fans blah blah blah. Like that validates anything whatsoever. While people/fans like myself feel these festivities mean absolutely nothing at all. Being voted into the All-Star game or being selected to be a part of it's events is a joke, not only because fans are stupid but because the peers of these athletes for the events don't care about it. Believe it or not some of the players that will be playing in the game could care less. Many of the players that care, there's an agenda behind it. If players don't care why do fans care so much?
LMBAO @ Tyrus Thomas http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/cs-070205bullsbits,1,3172483.story?coll=cs-bulls-headlines "Not really," Thomas said. "I'm just going to go out there, get my check and call it a day." "I'm just into the free money," he said when asked if he thought fraternizing with the great dunk champs of years past could be of benefit to him. "That's it. I'll just do whatever when I get out there." LMBAO @ Nash Here's what Steve Nash said a few weeks back "We kind of get screwed. I told them the last two years that I would do it for them. Two years ago, I said, 'OK, I'll do it for you this time. It's the last time. I'm never going to do it again because I've done it almost every year of my career.' And then the next year, they said, 'you've got to do it because you have to defend,' so I begrudgingly did it. Now, they're saying it's the collective bargaining agreement so I have to do it." "It's already difficult enough on my wife and kids that we're always on the road as it is. So then for our one break to be even more busy than we are during the regular season is difficult. Obviously, on the other hand, it's a huge honor." The part I bolded is hilarious because how long has the skills challenge been in effect? Nash has been in the league like 10yrs right. I don't think the challenge has been in effect that long. http://www.nba.com/allstar2007/skills_challenge/skills_field_070129.html [Edited by - TrueBlue on 02-06-2007 11:07 AM] LMFAO @ the Bio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephon_Marbury
