Knicks May Be Players

Feb 5 - With the value of several Knicks, including Jamal Crawford and Channing Frye, having increased this season, Isiah Thomas could be in position to put together a package to acquire a player who would enhance the Knicks' chances of reaching the playoffs in the watered-down Eastern Conference.

There are several lottery-bound teams that may be looking to dump big contracts and rebuild. Seattle's Ray Allen, Memphis' Pau Gasol and Boston's Paul Pierce could be on the move. Allen or Pierce would give the Knicks a go-to-scorer late in games who would flourish when Eddy Curry is double-teamed. -- New York Daily News
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Not sure how Frye has increased his value this season.

That statement in the article is a joke. His value has plummetted enormously this year. He was on the 1st rookie team (top 5 voting) last year and this year he didn't even come close to getting invited to the rookie-sophomore game.

Would you do Frye/Craw straight up for Gasol?

Jerry West would LAUGH IN YOUR FACE...you have to include Curry or Frye and the deal doesnt work financially.

normally I'm against trading young players, But J Oneil seems to be available and would give NY the interior defense that wins ballgames. Trade will include frye and lee most definately.

I find it interesting that he thrived under Brown and not Zeke.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I'm against giving up contracts that will end in a few years and the fact it could mean something bigger by then. This is what I mean about 'waiting'.

I find it interesting that out of fifteen players only one has regressed this year from last. Just by pure chance, I'd expect far more than that.

I did include Frye. Frye and Craw for Gasol works if you just add a minimal contract like Cato.
