methods to improve over the next few years:

toronto
draft: lose their #1 to charlotte if they make the playoffs. they have all their picks after that.
cap room: 2008

philadelphia
draft: 3 #1 picks this draft as well as all their picks after that.
cap room: 2008

boston
draft: have all their picks.
cap room: 2008

chicago
draft: have the right to swap with ours. have all their picks after that.
cap room: 2007

milwaukee
draft: have all their picks.
cap room: 2007

orlando
draft: owes detroit a #1 (top 7 protected in 2007, unprotected in 2008). have all their picks after that.
cap room: 2007

atlanta
draft: have all their picks.
cap room: 2007

charlotte
draft: have all their picks.
cap room: 2007

new york
draft: chicago can swap with our #1 pick. no 2nd rounders this year and in 2009. owe another #1 by 2010.
cap room: possibly 2009, more likely 2010

and he's broken down Dalembert, Jefferson, Bogut and others recently. only team on that list who's consistently given the Knicks problems is the Bobcats and Chicago. I'm curious to see the Knicks play Toronto.

eddy is this team's future, along with lee. thread is about future competition, no?

bobcats and the bulls are in really good shape. other teams have work to do, just as much if not more than us. and if we're talking about future competition it's worth noting that Curry has outplayed most of these these teams' young bigs recently.

Crzy:

I don't think Frye is necessarily our future.

I'd rather see Lee develop a 15 footer, and bring him off the bench, and bring in a PF/C that blocks shots and rebounds next to Curry.

DJ:

I think we might have to concede to the fact taht Dolan may never let us trade Curry.

That's just the way it is.

But hey, atleast he dismantled the so-called "promising" Orlando frontcourt tonight.

Then again........this was a back-to-back for them.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

So true - they had that fatigued flatness about them. Also, our rest seems to have done wonders for Marbs knee. Tis a win though...

Not an excuse, Magic was flat, their offense was abysmal. Knicks took advantage and won. Hoo-ray, no sarcasm, I'll be happy for three days now. But come on now, Magic missed a lot of shots, off the front rim, that they normally hit....not an excuse, just watching the game.

The Magic weren't flat, they just didn't have an answer for what we did tonight. Isiah made a good move putting Jerome on Howard to start. It took him out of his game. He got frustrated and you could see him getting angry early on. Then with Curry being unstoppable, that just took the air out of their sales. If Howard isn't dunking, he's so much less effective. He only got his dunks tonight off lose balls and put backs. Curry treated him like he has everyone else. Steph abeing a little less gimpy is also a positive and we still don't have a fully healty Q back yet. This guy is a KEY player for this team. He along with Lee has been one of our best players this year.

This team has room to grow and to me Frye is a part of that. Just because he hasn't had a very good year, doesn't mean we should give up on him so quickly. He obviously still has the skills to be a good player in this league. How about we just show some darned patience with the young players on this team. It never ceases to amaze me how quick everyone wants to write off players on this team. Guys in their 1st or 2nd YEAR!!!!! GEEEZ! This team has jjust as bright a future as any other team. We have a draft pick this year no matter if we trade with Chicago and Isiah is a great drafter. We already have 5 1st rd picks on the team and with Curry, Q, Jared and Jamal we have a group that will be able to be together for quite a few years. So what's the problem? Let's just keep building with this team and see what happens.

The knicks have a bright future. Curry is proving everyone wrong now. 27 on Dwight Howard? Ok the dude is unstoppable. I know I said he's not on that level yet but he is making it look really easy now. He is the best low post scorer in the league, Bar none. None of the teams mentioned in the east have players that can contain curry.

Curry is going to get better and he has proved to us that he has the drive to do so.

Balkman could become somebody. David Lee is that dude.

Nate is an immature ****, but he can't be counted out. When he is undercontrol he can score with anybody, with balls bigger that anybody in the league.

What will Collins do? He shows some poise and skill overall.

I'm rolling with the knicks. All the knicks have to do is burn frye. How bout to Boston? Milk Danny strange for all he is worth.

People shouldn't count Frye off so soon. The guy has great talent and ability to play almost anywhere from 3-5. Yeah, he would give up something in each position and PF, his best one, is a position where Lee is cementing his name on. But a guy like Frye, a big man with great range that provides shotblocking and can rebount (not like Lee, but he can) is a great comodity. Isiah just has to find the best way to exploit his talents instead of focusing completely on Curry.

People forget so easy! Frye is a keeper. Shouldn't be moved...
