Tim Duncan
Jermaine O'Neal
Zach Randolph
Shawn Marion
Ben Wallace
Dirk Nowitzki
Elton Brand
Amare Stoudemire

And plays far less minutes than all of them

...hey sometimes you got to look at the positives!

That is positive indeed.

While I love David Lee, those guys also have plays run for them and expend alot of energy scoring the ball. Lee floats around and grabs his boards that way. I'm not saying that's bad, I'm just saying that's the difference.

To add a little to that, Ben Wallace is trying to shut down the middle as well as taking on the biggest strongest man in the post...A little different..

DLee is the Knicks most consistent player and one of the best rebounders in the league. Just get over it. That's not a slight to Frye, it's just a fact.

Lee's numbers for January:

12.6ppg
11.7rebs
2.3ast
58%fg
83%ft

I guess he's just a role player, though. hey, if Isiah is so concerned about FTs, maybe Lee should start. he's hitting better than most knicks from the line these days.

seriously, if Lee played 35-40mpg - what would he average?

16ppg and 14rpg?

I guess he's just a role player with no offensive skills though.

edit: and leading the NBA in offensive rebounds doesn't count as offensive skill for you KOOLAID DRINKERZ!!!

It is pretty offensive for the opponents to do this stuff
Lee is offensive individual...

Lee might be averaging close to 35 min per for the month of Jan. I started a thread that highlighted Lees minutes (37 min per) over the last 5-7 games)

When Lee plays 35 minutes he is averaging 14.5 points and 14.4 rebounds per game. Not bad numbers for a bench player

I think keeping Lee in the running for SMOY has something to do with it and Frye not going to the bench has something to do with it. Any kind of award is "evident progress" - but it's getting insane. Also, Ben Gordon is a lock to win it anyway.

hey, not to be a wet blanket, but a lot of lee's boards are because plays are NOT run for him.

Just a little levity.

Most teams face guard him to get rebounds and what is the excuse on the defensive end? Are the double teaming Curry when he is on defense. Most teams game plan is to stop Curry and keep Lee off the boards. THe bucks were send two men at him at times so he couldnt rebound. They run no plays for him and when he plays 35 minutes he get almost 15 a game.

I don't know, what are his defensive rebounding rankings?

As long as he get's the minutes, starting isn't an issue to me.

Isiah seems to believe more in finishing...his pistons weren't too enamored with who started as they were with who was finishing.

Isiah isn't a knick, he doesn't coach like a knick and he didn't play like a knick, so maybe it's the die hard knick fans that have this much of a problem with him?

A knick starts lee, benches frye and plays Crawford at the point to keep him in control.

Isiah starts the same guys as long as he can and let's the flow of the game dictate the minutes the players receive...it's a bobby knight style (who I hated being a 'cuse fan)

Like i said...it's a different way to work in a city buried in history.

Lee is awesome and doing it in a role...why change it?

Because we know Lee is going to play well starting or coming off the bench. Frye has struggled starting so why not bring him off the bench to see if that helps him. The difference is the Pistons had one player as bad as JJ and that was Chuck Nevitt. If IT was winning you wouldnt hear me gripe but if you made the same recipe of cake everyday and it tasted like ass wouldnt you change the recipe
