I think the consistency is the main factor in team success.
Team consistency is a combination of individual player’s consistency and ability of the coaching stuff to manage the inconsistent player’s minutes. More consistent players team required less efforts from coaching stuff.
Let’s look what we get in NY after 3 years of IT GM and how thus affects his coaching.

Players consistaency:

Lee - consistently good performance on offense and defense (double/double). Has problems with jumper, defense is average at best – but he knows this and works in his element (maybe his own thing or he is listening to coaching stuff)
Eddy – consistently good on offense and bad on defense. Looks like not fixable but clear how to use.
Craf – inconsistent on offense and defense. Looks like can be improved but this is on coach
Marbs, Steve, Q – inconsistent because of age/health problems. Not fixable
Fry, Nate, Balkman, Collins – inconsistent because young and inexperience. May be fixable over 2-3 years. Possible faster for Balkman and Fry
Jeffries, Big Snack, Malik, Cato – constantly bad performance. Hey – they just can do as much.

So except of Lee we have:
GM blunders: Eddy, Marbs, Steve, Q, Jeffries, Big Snack, Malik, Cato
Coach bad work: Craf, Fry, Nate, Balkman, Collins

So IT is definitely the most INCONSISTENT peace of this puzzle and first candidate to go

simple fact is we dont play hard every night. Look at our pattern. Once ever 3-4 games we have a total no show, and often against teams that are depleated or just bad. Following those blow out losses we play very well, and usually. Following that win we usually lose a closer game as the embarrassment has worn off and guys are back to old habits of half trying.

Look at the schedule.. this is the NY Knicks.

People talk about building around guys.. how you gonna do that if one of those guys doesnt even play hard?

We need to decide on Frye or Curry. We also have too many guys. I would like to know what a Mardy/Nate/JJSkinny package could get. I would do it for a late first rounder and expiring deal in a heartbeat.

I think when a team takes a full season off it's difficult for them to follow that up the next year by bringing it every night. Bad habits are hard to get rid of. That's why you never condone quitting like we did last year.
I just hope that people will like me

We know the Knicks can make a last quarter surge, so what is needed now? The Knicks have got to take the 3rd quarter into they're hands and reach back to keep it close, so that when the 4th comes, they can make that familiar surge and have a chance to win more. But then, once they get the lead, they then need to learn how to not let it slip away.
I'll never trust this' team again.

A lot of nice comments.
But of course nothing to do with the thread.
Sometimes I am wondering if people are reading it or what
