I haven't seen him myself, but a Giants forum gives him very good reviews.

when did he start commentating for espn? he's actually pretty good... should have retired 2 years earlier like tiki and started his media gig sooner

he actually knows what he's talking about : jgambrosio : 1/28/07 1:18 AM
very unbiased opinions, doesnt seem to play any favorites from what i've heard. much different than some *cough stephen a. smith cough*

He's a great analyst : jshore : 1/28/07 2:06 AM
Provides unbiased opinions and makes good points. And while he is not biased, he still always supports the Knicks when he talks about them, which I love. They had him on right after the brawl this year and he was fair about it but supported them for the most part. True Knick

Allan is the type of person who would probably succeed at anything he touched. I have seen him for ESPN and he looks like he trumps half the guys who have been doing it for 10 years. He's calm-cool and collected and of course he knows basketball. I know we have paid him out the gonzo--but Id prefer hiring H2O back for mSG on the telecasts that Clyde is gone for and the other half can be radio.

I heard him talk to Trautwig on MSG while Jamal was dropping his 50. The dude sounds like he was made for TV. He is really composed and knows what he wants to say. He'll do real well.

he does a good job on NBA Fastbreak... still looks a little stiff at times, but makes articulate points & has a good camera presence... wouldn't mind for him to analyze some Knick games if Clyde ever decides to call it quits.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Guess the 100 million dollar contract wasn't enough money for him.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I like both in different ways, but I think GJ is not doing the finals simply because he doesn't work for ESPN, wouldn't you say?
