Stan (New Jersey): I know here probably hear this a lot from Knicks fans, but if you were GM of the Knicks what changes would you make personal wise and how would you do it?
David Aldridge: Before I did anything, I'd have a serious talk with Cablevision, which owns the Knicks, about how patient they'd be willing to be. Assuming they would give me some time, first, I'd be honest with the fans and say this is going to take time. Second, I'd try to find takers for some of my less onerous contracts, like Harrington's and Charlie Ward's. Third, I'd build through the draft. Fourth, I'd pray that Dice can stay healthy.
Michael (Oceanside): Hi Dave, love your work. The Knicks, since their horrific 1-8 start, have a respectable 18-16 record. What do you think has keyed this resurgance and with a possibly returning McDyess, can this team really compete in a weak eastern conference?
David Aldridge: Kurt Thomas has been outstanding. Sprewell can still defend. Houston has gotten out of his slump. Don Chaney has treated them like men, and they're responding. They may not make the playoffs this year but that might be a good thing. Add another young player in the draft and bring Dice back next season and you have a team that could make a move.
