Well at least, if they get knocked out, we will have the opportunity not' to have to watch the horror of it!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Why? I wonder what stupid business reason there is for this. At least theres the radio
it's the stupid ABC national rights. they have exculsive rights to broadcast bball games so if they have a game on, then any other game that starts at that time will probably be blacked out. i think they scheduled this game at 330 just in case both the knicks and mil were good teams at this time of the year so they could split the national feed to each coast. but that's not the case right now.

I don't understand why that effects local networks especially a network like msg. Msg should be allowed to televise its own clubs.
The NBA accommodates ABC because ABC pays a small (or, actually, large) fortune to the league: $2.4 billion over six years, from 2002-03 to 2007-08, for ABC/ESPN. Hey, someone's gotta pay for the two JJs, not to mention Stevie, Stephon and the rest of our overpaid gang.
Baseball works the same way. When Fox has games on Saturday afternoon at 1 pm ET, no other games can be on TV from 1-4. That's why the Yankees start at 4 pm or later on Saturdays when their games are not on Fox.
Usually, teams will schedule games on Sundays so as not to coincide with ABC's window. But as dj pointed out, apparently there was a chance ABC would show this game to the East Coast. I'm surprised they did not reschedule it for a night game, but I guess there was a reason they chose not to do that.
