Don't get me wrong, I Love DaWhite Howard, but he doesn't play any defense, just like Curry.

I recall Paxson asking for David Lee OR an unconditional 1st.

Had we given up Lee instead, we could've kept our pick and drafted Tyrus ourself, who would've given us that dynamic shotblocker in the paint that we sorely need.

Curry
T. Thomas
Jefferies
Q. Richardson
Marbury

Thomas will be a future 2 Block/Game forward.

I know at the time we couldn't have foreseen us sucking so bad, but honestly, would it have mattered?

Lee was a 30th Pick, our pick swap would've given Chicago ATLEAST a pick somewhere around 15-20, which is a good 10+ spots better.

I just can't understand it. He must really be that ****y, thinking shotblockers come along everyday like that.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

ill take david lee right now over T Thomas. To be honest I dont really know if Thomas will ever be as good as Lee. Dont forget too that Lee will get better. His jumpshot should come along within anohter year or two.

^ You'll take David Lee's offensive rebounds over Thomas's shotblocking?

Why?

We're the best rebounding team in the league and that's not just because of Lee...

Plus, TT is gonna be a 8-10 REB/game player himself.

because lee can also finish better than Thomas. Having someone who can put the ball in the hoop with both hands is a huge weapon. Lee also might not be as good a shotblocker, but he plays good defense.

sorry, i'll take D Lee over Tyrus Thomas everyday of the week & twice on Sunday... TT might turn out to be as good as a KMart in his prime someday, but i'm very happy w/what D Lee gives this team & wouldn't trade him for anyone short of a legitimate franchise calibre talent... he brings too much to the team in terms of intangibles along w/the great efficiency of production he provides in the minutes he plays... players like him are extremely rare in the NBA.

You guys are forgetting we'd also have our rights to the pick this year...

This is an interesting thread. Both are top rebounders. Thomas is a much better defensive player and Lee is a much better offensive player. Judging by Thomas's foul shooting, I'd guess he'll never develop an outside shot. He just doesn't have that skill. Lee may improve defensively. All in all, I'll take Lee.

I would consider Lee or Frye for Nocioni straight up.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I dont think Thomas is "much" better defender than Lee. He may be better but I wouldnt say heads and shoulders better.

Thomas is averaging 3 pts and 2 boards a game. He cant find 10 minutes a game on the Bulls team. Lee is averaging a double-double and when he gets on a team that will play him 37 minutes a game he will average 15 points and 12 points in the league.

In fairness, Thomas is a rookie. Can't find minutes is a little excessive and plain unfair. He's playing behind some VERY talented players. Right now Lee is well surpassing expectations, but knowing which player is better is going to take a few years to really figure out, so let's not go crazy with judging apples to oranges.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Tyrus might be a nice player down the road, but I was never really impressed with him when he was in LSU. He never really struck me as an intelligent player, but that's just me though.

David Lee has a little more skill, maybe not as much athleticism, but still has some, and will probably always be a much better rebounder than Thomas, plus Lee is just a smart player.

Anyone see that assist to Crawford last night?

Was Lee numbers better as a rookie last year. Thomas is Stromile Swift at best. He inst a basketball player he is athlete and he will have trouble playing inside in the league. The guy weighs 220 soaking wet and he will get exposed when he plays a lot of minutes

Paxson never was actually quoted saying he would take Lee. This is a rumor started on these websites. coulda, woulda, shoulda ... yada, yada, yada
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

One of those articles says Lee should be given all star consideration.

People need to stop downplaying what Lee means to this team. It makes me sick. Crawford and Curry and Marbury and Qrich have all played extremely well for portions of the season but Lee has been the only constant. Without him we'd have maybe 10 wins.

The fact that he isn't starting is a sick joke. Isiah is either trying to protect Frye and Jefferies' value to make himself look better or trying to get them going, but I think half the reason Frye and Jefferies are playing so poorly right now is that they know they don't deserve to start.

The best players on this team are Curry, Lee, Craw, QRich and Marbury. They should start. Balkman needs to play more, too. Jefferies and Frye need to earn their minutes. To be fair to Isiah, Jefferies is being punished for his pathetic play with very limited minutes.

Definately. Lee keeps getting those quiet double doubles night in and night out. Dude does the little things that make a difference. Hopefully it doesn't take an injury for people to realize what we'd be missing.
Luckily the majority of fans recognize the effort and efficiency.

He should. And if he were starting, our record and his #s would be better and he would be getting consideration.

LMFAO you would trade Lee for an unproven guy who has atheticism but averages balkman like numbers. I bet if Lee was on the Bulls you would trade the farm for him. Lee for Ty "hasnt done a damn thing" Thomas. Wow
