the Miami Heat said nothing because they know we are battling for position 8 and that first quarter was an aberration. I watched snacks the other night and he has nothing--if anything he was a detrimant and kind of a conduit for the Heat losing a 20 pt lead. While we are going to miss sure-fire post points---what I want to SEE is CHANNING FRYE to STEP UP IN THE POST and score. I don't want to view Channing taking 8 20 footers even if he can make half of them. I want to SEE Balkman given a SHOT to play big minutes--atleast for ONE game at the 3 simply because he HAS to be better than Jefferies--I mean were supposed to lose????[i never believe that] but that would probably be the theme. Without Marbury and Curry--we can atleast EXPLORE playing MUCH faster and see what we can do. Miami is OLD--I cant figure out for the life of me why jason williams looked like flash gordon the other night or why we looked like we were wearing cement shoes--but there is NO reason why WE cant put the speed emphasis BACK on them.
One thing I dislaike from era to era is we CONCEDE losing--IT verbally concedes losing-like it's OK if we go 0-5.

How about my F team is going to step UP--we're going to dig in here and win games

Anyone listen to Serena Williams the other day--she was great---she hadnt played well in awhile and came back in good shape for the AO ranked 81 and breezed through the competition. After advancing to the finals she said--I can beat anybody on this tour I havent even played near my best--clearly mentally intimidating my girl Maria:) but that was awesome--thats how this tem was in the 90s they just had a mentally tough attitude from the GM to the couch--players they were all tough all the time. we never conceded anything to anyone--and thats what sport is. I cant imagine owning a 600mm $ club and hear the words its OK if we go 0-5.

not for nothing, but i've heard Steph, Eddy & Jamal say plenty of times in interviews that they believe this team can play w/anyone in the league if they play their game.

what would be ironic is if they went out tonight & beat the Heat w/Shaq & Wade while Steph & Curry were sitting out of the game... i wonder if people would just be making excuses for the Heat saying they didn't need this game as much as the Knicks did... given there's fat chance of that happening, but who'd have thought the Knicks would lie down & die against a Shaq & Wade-less Heat team the other night?

But they just HAVE TO be down 68 points to realize that they have to play their game.

Nah, this team is DEVELOPING and I really think sometimes that some of us just can't get that thru our heads. This is a team that is working towards being a good team, but it isn't going to be a smooth progression. You're going to get some slippage along the way. HOWEVER this team IS making improvements and that has to be recognized.

The key will be how Isiah or the next GM adds another impact player without a high draft choice or cap room.

nixluva, I've been saying that this team (as currently constructed) can play but it will take them another season or two to show consistency.

what makes you think that this team is developing into something other than a first round exit team? anyway if the knicks dont go on a run of sorts later on this season and finish with 35 wins, will you still think that this team is developing into something and just needs more time?

What makes you think the talent will level off after this season and the players will have maximized their potential during this season?

Great point Holfresh! This is something that jsut KILLS me about some Knick fans. They can't seem to understand that this is a DEVELOPING TEAM!!!! You have to allow young players to get better and for the TEAM to jell. This is basically year one, since last year was so bad. But if they keep this up, then next year they can build off of what they learn this year and that's how a team develops.

We've still not had everyone reach their potential yet and i'm not talking about full potential, but REASONABLE potential. Guys like Frye, Nate, Balkman and even Colins, who will only get more consistent and comfortable as they move along in their careers. They don't all have to be superstars, but solid pros would help a lot and I think they have that in them. From what i've seen we can play with anyone in the East and all but the top West teams.

LOL!

When I read Nixluva's posts, I think of this:

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

heh I doubt you are right about Isiah just having started a rebuild this season. if that was the case he should have done it when he first got here instead, but Im sure it isnt. in fact I dont beleive Isiah is rebuilding even now. if you think about it the knicks as a franchise has never stopped doing whatever it takes to win as many games as possible, even if it meant signing a coach who is notorious for not playing rookies to a 5 year 50 million dollar contract.

ugh, you didnt answer my question about the run! thats what i wanted to hear from you more than anything. anyway of course our players will continue to get better in the upcoming years, they are still developing. we are a lottery team now, and when they finish developing we will be a first or second round exit team instead. anyway I doubt the chemistry will ever improve becuase the roster is poorly assembled with players that dont fit. but anyway just answer my question about the run and winning 35 games.

anyway if the knicks are rebuilding than Isiah should be trying to get a player to build around soon. unless his plan is an unorthodox one that doesnt involve building around a franchise player like the detroit pistons did when they won a title 3 or so years ago, but thats kind of risky doing it that way to me becuase that strategy only worked once in like all of nba history.
